oh my god guys READ THE DESCRIPTIONS. its not iofur from the golden compass.it is, however, the same basic concept, a bear king. wooo.
this thing has been sitting in my sketchbook for ages...because i didn't want to put the gold in. finally did it in about three seconds.
i'm a lazy ass.
between reading the 'bears famous invasion of sicily' and seeing the new long trailer for 'the golden compass'...bear kings everywhere! they're such a tempting subject :]

Oooh! I really love this! I especially like how it looks so much like a woodblock print. Plus, the bold coloring is beautiful. I also love the expression on the face of the bear standing right behind the king. Looks like he's up to something sneaky and underhanded. Look out, King!! And, although this sounds totally ridiculous (well, no more ridiculous than the rest of my comment, I guess ... *sweatdrop*

OH bears! I love the faces on the bears, and the colours on the king in the foreground--so vivid and rich! You use such wonderful jewel-colours in your art.

I love this character design. The rings on his claws especially.
The stark coloring style works really well too. I like the rich tones of the king against the more subtle background a lot, and how thickly you applied it all.

Glad I'm not the only one who gets lazy over dumb little art things. I'm sure I'd be the same way. Still, the gold really made the finishing touch.

Not overly sure about the colour in this one... a little dark and murky in places, but then i'm one to talk with my awful colour choices.
