Regular 2.0 (mechanical) pencil lead.

Must be a small pic then. I use a proffesional quality F-heaviness pencil for sketching and then a 7-8B heaviness pencil for outlining the sketching, along with a 01 sized pen for final outlining. Plus, you remember the gum eraser block, right? Well, I use that to clean up outlines. Eventualy you'll want to use a combo like that when you get very skilled at drawing!
