It's commenting month at CRPhotography!

I have to say I really like this, it's a very unique and refreshing abstract photo. I love the f-stop you chose, the shallow depth of field makes it very interesting to look at. The sharp tops of the cylinders contrasting with the faded ones make for an interesting comparison. i can't really think of anything you could do to improve this! However, I would like to see what it would look like if it was cropped as a square. Other than that I think this is a really fantastic piece, and you did an amazing job at capturing it! Fantastic work e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c… " width="20" height="20" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="60" title="Clap"/>

Thank you very much! I will play around with a square crop this weekend to see what it looks like, since I had never considered that before with this photo.Ā

Overall, I find this photo very interesting. I think there is a wonderful balance between the light and the dark. I don't know if you meant this or not but, my eye goes to the dot a little above half way up the photo. It's still a great photo.

Thank you very much! Ā  Do you mean the top of the cylinder that is in focus towards the upper-left corner or the spot of dust or something that makes a dark point on that in-focus cylinder about halfway down?Ā  I purposefully tried to make the point of focus according to the rule of thirds, but if that dark dot is drawing away your attention, I may cheat and use PS to fix it... Thanks!Ā

It's a light blur, It matches the photo I really don't think you should try to remove it, I was just letting you know how I saw your art. It's beautiful don't change a thing.Ā

Commenting month :CRPhotography:

I don't normally come across this sort of photo, so it's hard for me to give you some critique moment, but I like what you did to the focal point and the dots sort of overlayering with the, how to call it, spikes but some depth into the photo

Thanks, May! I've been trying to slip in "weird" abstract shots among the "normal" stuff, just to see how it goes. I like experimenting!

You're welcome! I think it's great that you're experimenting! It's always nice to see something different. I can't wait to see more of your abstract shots! It's very interesting and also I love to look at it and try to guess what it might be

I honestly can't remember exactly what this thing was - some part of a calculating machine... it will forever be a mystery!
