The mother and her kit who is used for a plot device, Speckletail and Snowkit! First, I remember liking Speckletail when I first read the series, but looking back through the wiki and how she acts, she's not that likeable. However, when it comes to her kits, specifically Snowkit, she's mostly sweet. When she is told Snowkit can never be a warrior, she is enraged (as she should be, Bluestar why??), and even tries training him herself, which is cute. Then when he is taken by the hawk, she is distraught, and doesn't instantly get over it like most background characters probably would.
Snowkit doesn't have much character, he's just a lil sweet kit who loves life, up until he gets taken away that is. If only he became a warrior to prove Bluestar wrong, that would've been so rewarding!
For their designs, I looked up some inspiration for Speckletail online, and found some that fit closest to how I imagined her. I don't think I've got it just right, I imagine her being more skinny with shaggy fur, her fur getting more matted and messy after Snowkit's death.
For Snowkit, I gave him some grey spots around his face and paws to mimic how lion cubs look, Idk why, I just wanted him to have a more interesting design than just plain white fur.
