Description Although I don't think I've told everyone on here, I'm a big Skylanders fan as well as some of my other fandoms, and lately I've been in a Skylanders mood.

Stealth Elf here is one of my two favorite Skylanders, the other being Flameslinger, and they're actually the only ones I don't have trouble drawing, although Stealth's face mask gives me trouble sometimes, as well as Flame's blindfold. Also, I ship them. A lot. Stealthslinger is amazing. Hence why I'm writing a short fanfic on it that I may or may not post on here.

I don't really know to be honest. I think for those I was looking at a guide. You draw a circle, then a squareish-trapezoidy shape on the top for a finger guide, then you wing it with the thumbs.

I'll have to try that. My hands are pathetic x'D that's why I always draw my characters with their hands in their pockets or behind them...

I used to do that when I first started drawing humans. I've just gotten better at drawing them now.

Saaaaame. I need to read 8 chapters by Monday. I read fast so I'm probably going to put it off until Sunday night, knowing me.

I've been putting pff some of my calculus worksheets since before break. Ah, if only I hadn't told my teacher I'd finally do them all over break... *reluctantly pulls out folder*

Yea that's a good idea. I finished the part I was supposed to read yesterday so now I'm just drawing for a contest I entered on here.

They look cool when drawn right but they take artistic skill I have not yet developed

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-06 17:32:48 +0000 UTC]

For me when I'm drawing a new pose the my had seems to forget what proportion is unless I have a reference.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DanksForTheMemeries In reply to LynnDoubleLegacy [2016-01-06 21:02:04 +0000 UTC]

References are gold tbh. I'd never be able to draw correct proportions in poses if it weren't for references...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-07 00:26:43 +0000 UTC]

It depends on if I've drawn it before, but most of the time if I haven't drawn it before I need a reference or I fail.

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-07 03:11:31 +0000 UTC]

The one thing I really can't do posewise that I've looked at a reference for is crossed arms.
They. Are. Difficult.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DanksForTheMemeries In reply to LynnDoubleLegacy [2016-01-08 00:50:37 +0000 UTC]

oh my god yes crossed arms

I still can't do those very well unless it's side view, and even then side view is side view. I just draw a character with their hands on their hips if I want them to look angry or sassy

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-08 03:30:13 +0000 UTC]

I was trying to draw one of my favorite Megaman characters leaned against a wall with his arms crossed and oh my god I swear-

I can't even really do hands on hips correctly, because of the hands.

hands in pockets is my go-to natural pose. it works wonders

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-09 03:26:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeaaaaa I do that a lot.

For me it's the pose I drew Coda in for his reference sheet. It just comes naturally for me to stand in that pose, so I draw characters in that pose too.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DanksForTheMemeries In reply to LynnDoubleLegacy [2016-01-09 15:09:15 +0000 UTC]

That's probably why I draw so many characters with their hands in their pockets. I do that a lot, especially with jackets

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-10 01:50:30 +0000 UTC]

I don't do that very much since there's normally a dozen things in my pockets.

i keep everything i need in my bag i always have with me... though sometimes i put things in my pockets. and it's usually a chap stick, and it usually ends up being ruined in the washing machine D:

I usually write in the present tense, so I notice a past-tense verb when I see it while editing. Like "hey where did that come from"

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-18 07:17:26 +0000 UTC]

I have two to three different writing styles that use different tenses-
Heheh.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DanksForTheMemeries In reply to LynnDoubleLegacy [2016-01-22 13:22:49 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes I write in the past tense, but especially for intense scenes, I feel that the present tense brings the scene to life more. Know what I mean?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-22 18:58:28 +0000 UTC]

Yea, I'm just not very good at writing in first person, to be honest. If I manage it, it has to be very loose first person, with them telling you about it after it happened.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DanksForTheMemeries In reply to LynnDoubleLegacy [2016-01-23 00:31:53 +0000 UTC]

I used to be bad at it but then I did it so much I forgot how to write good third person prose... Oops.
