Description
Although I don't think I've told everyone on here, I'm a big Skylanders fan as well as some of my other fandoms, and lately I've been in a Skylanders mood.Stealth Elf here is one of my two favorite Skylanders, the other being Flameslinger, and they're actually the only ones I don't have trouble drawing, although Stealth's face mask gives me trouble sometimes, as well as Flame's blindfold. Also, I ship them. A lot. Stealthslinger is amazing. Hence why I'm writing a short fanfic on it that I may or may not post on here.

I don't really know to be honest. I think for those I was looking at a guide. You draw a circle, then a squareish-trapezoidy shape on the top for a finger guide, then you wing it with the thumbs.

I'll have to try that. My hands are pathetic x'D that's why I always draw my characters with their hands in their pockets or behind them...

I used to do that when I first started drawing humans. I've just gotten better at drawing them now.

For me when I'm drawing a new pose the my had seems to forget what proportion is unless I have a reference.

DanksForTheMemeries In reply to LynnDoubleLegacy [2016-01-06 21:02:04 +0000 UTC]
References are gold tbh. I'd never be able to draw correct proportions in poses if it weren't for references...

It depends on if I've drawn it before, but most of the time if I haven't drawn it before I need a reference or I fail.

The one thing I really can't do posewise that I've looked at a reference for is crossed arms.
They. Are. Difficult.
π: 0 β©: 1
DanksForTheMemeries In reply to LynnDoubleLegacy [2016-01-08 00:50:37 +0000 UTC]
oh my god yes crossed arms
I still can't do those very well unless it's side view, and even then side view is side view. I just draw a character with their hands on their hips if I want them to look angry or sassy

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-08 03:30:13 +0000 UTC]
I was trying to draw one of my favorite Megaman characters leaned against a wall with his arms crossed and oh my god I swear-
I can't even really do hands on hips correctly, because of the hands.

LynnDoubleLegacy In reply to DanksForTheMemeries [2016-01-09 03:26:49 +0000 UTC]
Yeaaaaa I do that a lot.
For me it's the pose I drew Coda in for his reference sheet. It just comes naturally for me to stand in that pose, so I draw characters in that pose too.

That's probably why I draw so many characters with their hands in their pockets. I do that a lot, especially with jackets

I usually write in the present tense, so I notice a past-tense verb when I see it while editing. Like "hey where did that come from"

Sometimes I write in the past tense, but especially for intense scenes, I feel that the present tense brings the scene to life more. Know what I mean?

Yea, I'm just not very good at writing in first person, to be honest. If I manage it, it has to be very loose first person, with them telling you about it after it happened.
