Back when Dimmy was created, she used to be a way more serious gem than she is now. Her calm smile and playful personality were nowhere to be seen, but her curiosity, even if hidden, has been present since the moment she first emerged.
But 9000 years of events and different adventures tend to change a person, and Dimorphite was no exception. She's come a long way and has learned a lot... Eventually, she learned to look at the positive side of things and look for every opportunity as something new and exciting. She still has a lot to learn about life, but she feels like she's improved a lot since then.
This is what her first form looked like! Back when she was barely just a Runner. She's always been a High-Class gem, but things used to be very different for her back then.
