Hello what's up I don't know what I'm doing hECK YEAH...Aaaaanyways, someone asked me how I draw those starry backgrounds I like to draw so much, and I thought "Hey, why not make a tutorial, that sounds fun!"
And I got carried away
and it's 2am already
on a weekday.
...bUT HEY!
I'll check for some proper grammar and what not tomorrow lfgsf in the meantime, some notes:
- This is just what I came up with from studying the SU backgrounds and then developing my own style with them. I can't assure you they're accurate or anything, they just look pretty in my opinion!
- Just as a little tip, I like lookinng up for references in Google (more specifically for textures, but the point might be useful here?) by modifying the Usage Rights in the Tools section (right under the search bar) to "Labeled for reuse with modification". You can also make your search easier by using the Color tool or others!
- For this example I used this and this picture, if you're curious.
- I used Paint Tool SAI for this tutorial! But any drawing program should do the trick, really. Play around with the layer modes and have fun!

The smallest I can get!
I usually use a 0.5 ink pen since it's thinner than a regular pen brush!

Fun Fact: The light band that runs across the sky in most pictures/photos is actually a slice of the entire galaxy viewed side on! That's why our galaxy is called the Milky Way, because it looks like a giant milk spill XD
