I didn't really like TFP Breakdown because of his genericness, and I prefer Animated's Canon version of Breakdown which was a homage to G1's Paranoid Breakdown.

He just didn't feel or look like Breakdown to me, I like the design, and he could be a great Motormaster.

Not every version of Breakdown is going to be the same. And Motormaster is already a truck, so to change the alternate mode would be a disservice to the character.Β

The recolor wasn't lazy, it was for story purposes. The Stunticons disguised themselves as Autobots to fool Cybertron that they were Autobots acting asΒ Decepticons for a play. So his bodytype was his disguised bodytype, and not his real bodytype.

And it was for Botcon, the now defunct Transformers convention where you get Exclusive swag like, comics, toys, and autographs.

I've done the same similar thing with my version, expect that I've made the official TFA Breakdown upgrade himself into a new body quite similar to this.

They should have gone with that design instead. Breakdown looks almost legit in that one.

some are easier, some are harder, this one was my third attempt for breakdown, and I had to let it stew in my head for a month for it to come out like I wanted ^.^'

I do have to wonder tho, in RID they're introducting the stunticons as a combiner, Breakdown is originally a stunticon...considering this is a series after tfp....how does that work?

It stands to reason that maybe they might bring him back to life. Besides, now that the well of allsparks was activated he could also be reborn. I just with Knockout would be in it too though.... after all, his alt mode was spotted in the rid series, but it would be cool to see him since there are comics of him joining team bee in the idw comic series.
