errrm.... I wouldn't exactly say that this is a failed experiment..... it's just that the background and the character colors don't really go together...=w=I was trying to change my coloring style by lowering the saturation of the colors I use. The characters came out fine, but I guess I got kinda tired for the background -I let the saturation explode again..=A=
soooo.... I kind of ended up turning up the saturation level higher for the characters and turning down the brightness for the background -which is sad since I actually spent some time on the background this time...[even though it still looks crappy]

Ths picture was originally inspired by a puppet performence I saw two weeks ago.... and they weren't just any puppets, they were life size puppets (ring any bells?)
the name of the performence was called "The Second Goodbye", it was performed in such bizzare chinese that I hardly understood half of what they were saying [even though I'm a native speaker..o_o] But the puppetry was amazing, they made the puppets soo life-like that they really looked..um...real.
Anyway... I really couldn't keep my eyes off the puppeteer, who was kind of behind the puppet's shoulder throuhout the show like Sasori is here, well, excluding Sasori's arm...the puppeteer's arm didn't stick out like that [no, they didn't use strings to control the puppets...more like, the puppets where half hollow so the puppeteers could stick thier hands in them..=w=] She was soooo skilled XD!!! She just reminded me so much of Sasori... so I just had to draw this.
As for Sakura.....I SWEAR SHE WAS JUST A SECOND THOUGHT!!! she just seemed like she fit there...= =+

But if you mean my prolonged artist's comment, then yes, this picture was inspired by another piece of art. A performance, to be specific. There isn't exactly a 'story' behind this picture though, since the plot of the puppet performance has nothing to do with the picture itself. I guess it was just the puppetry that inspired me XD

.....her face is lop-sided, her nose is too small, the space between her mouth and chin are too wide...a-and Sasori's NOSE....
..it's soo true how you can find so many mistakes when you go back and look at old work....and the coloring in this one's so weird..*twich* ....I think I recolored it sometime once upon a time too...[link] =w=+

woo~another masterpiece! sasori's hair is so light red...i like the pink hues you put on sakura...you should go watch *don't remember the name, it's been so long since i watched their shows*...there's this group of ppl from Japan who come every year to perform a show...it's not really puppeting, but the performers wear costumes with oversized heads and elaborate costumes...how is this related to Sasori? beats me XD.
