Description
Idk I thought it was a clever title. It probably has been done a thousand times, but I wanted to draw a tv head.
Should this be marked mature? Someone scream at me if this should be marked mature.

Yep. Honestly, I hope that people will enjoy this art for what it is, as it isn't a real woman, but will think about it next time they see a real woman being portrayed as an object.

Totally! It would be cute seeing a man version too, like a man with a tv head which says 'fuckboy at your service' or similar. XDDD

Ahaha that does sound like something interesting to draw, and a bit more challenging. I'll have to think of how to picture the same level of vulnerability in a man because you don't see it that as much in mainstream media. Maybe I'll try that out after my exams - and once I finished owned art. I told everyone that I would do that first once I get less busy, so right now drawing is a way to let out some steam during breaks.Β

I don't think the vulnerability look would suit a picture like that: objectified men are super aggressive, self-confident and think to be a gift from the gods to women. Plus their mind and soul is as deep as a puddle. XDDDΒ

Dang this is such a good image of what men thinks about women, actually even other women thinks too : (Β
The angle is so amazing, making her look even more voluptuous than may actually be.Β
It makes my mind go wild thinking about all this

I do want to say "not all men", but then I remember the countless advertisement where a woman is added just to sell a product and the men take a woman's body for granted, and how are we still at this point in 2018? Luckily people are growing more and more aware of those issues but changes will take time.
So, yes, not all men, but society as a whole is a pretty big influence when it comes to objectification and it's hard to fight against that.

Yeah even nowadays I still see women and men in general talking "look how she dresses, she was asking to be raped or harassed" like what the heck : D How someone can be asking for it or that?Β
We are at baby steps but we still getting to be more respected, but still could be faster Β

I like it, messes with your head a lil bc I DO but it feels so bad to want to objectify someone XD so in art i feel it's okay, especially here where it's at play. TV heads are great in so many ways, and I like the pun here! (Added to my mature collection just in case, but i dont think you need a filter)

I mean objectification in art is okay in my opinion because there are not actual people, but at the same time, one can wonder if said art will then make people think it's okay to treat real people the same way. It's the age-long question about what sort of influence art have on people... That's why it's important to have some art like that as well, that reminds people to take a step back - or at least I hope it reminds people to take a step back.
Not going to lie though, I enjoyed drawing this, but again, it's a drawing.
Also I love tv head so much I missed drawing them aaa

Exactly how I see it! It's always important to understand why you think or react a certain way to art, and that's why we have it. But some people just consume it. To each their own, but sometimes the art can feed viewer's type of addiction but that is not your fault for their abuse, if that makes sense.Β
Good you enjoyed it, I hate having to push out art. You should def do more of this if you like it ^^ <3

If anything, I /don't/ think that people are inclined to treat women poorly because of their image in visual art. It simply doesn't have this much influence, and no matter how good the artists, there is always a distance between the viewer and the piece (it's not too immersive). However, more harm is done by other types of media. Films like Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, for example, that openly teaches boys watching that whatever they do, they are entitled to a girl even if they are being an a-hole to her because at the end of the day she will see what a great guy he is, do a lot of harm. It's all part of a narrative in mainstream media and while those films do get a lot of backlash from the critique, the harm is done, and it's worth than what art can do because films are so much immersive and shows us examples of behaviors that are seen as acceptable in the universe in which they are performed.
Objectification is taught by society... but the good thing is that it means that it can be untaught! I would be much more worried about the well-being of women out there if that was inherent to men's nature. It doesn't excuse a harasser or an abuser's behavior, but it allows you to be more optimistic about the future.

I agree with you, and I think itβs good to see that chance of change in the future and already there is a lot more people being wary of this imo. Β I always wondered why always I see explicit violence or r*pe of women in films and then the men only get shot in the body or punches are thrown at most. Never depicted as gruesome as the womanβs injuries. But that is less an issue in todayβs films as far as I know and more a topic to analyze and to see that it was present whether intentionally with a meaning behind it or interpretation, or just bc the director or someone in charge desired to otherwise.Β
