well, the shadowy mysterious quality and the overall dangerous look could have something to do with it.

yes, that was a nice touch. i can imagine it using fly, and its arms kinda morph slightly so they look even more wing-like.

i taught my missingno fly.
but you bring up another idea. it might be the lighting or it could just be how i see missingno in general, but i get the impression that he's semi-transluscent. so what if he glows from the inside out? i see it so vividly in my mind, it's really cool.
