I love Tim Burton's take on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but (and no offense meant to either Depp's portrayal or the book's) Gene Wilder will always be the definitive Wonka to me.The lineart can be seen here...

I like how vivid he's come out. Vibrant, even.
And I agree, Gene Wilder is still The Wonka. It's going to take alot to change that.
Although, from another point, kudos to Burton for not even trying, but rather taking a differen take completely. Always a good move.

Oh yeah, I doubt it would have turned out as well if he stayed too close to the original (though, since he has said that he hated the first film, I didn't think he would).

Thank you. Usually after I paint things they lose the likeness, but this one actually gained it during the coloring process.
