I keep returning to this picture just to look at it. The aurora shown here is stunning, which is due to both the aurora itself and how well you show it. It's not so easy to take pictures at night, and you certainly got it right.
I don't think everyone would have included the tree, but I agree with its inclusion and would have done the same. Notice that the lines of the aurora left of the tree lead left. Without the tree, those lines would draw the eye down to the bright yellow and green at the lower left, nearly out of the frame. The silhouette of the tree provides contrast to those bright colors and draws the eye back into the frame.
The tree is only part of the subject, of course, so it should, and does, have equal prominence with the aurora. Showing it as a silhouette is exactly as it should be. If the tree were bright enough to see in detail, it could not stand out against the light, since bright can't be a contrast to bright, and so it could not provide that necessary balance to the aurora.
One other detail may not have been intentional, but this aurora makes me imagine an enormous bird gliding across the sky. Look at the three pale green streaks directly above the far left branch of the tree, at the top of the light, and you'll see the head and beak, pointed left. You could easily call this picture "Firebird." Even if the result is unintentional, I rate vision highly because of that idea of what the light appears to be.
It's not every picture of the northern lights that shows such a range of colors, and it's not every picture that shows such distinct, graceful patterns in the light. As I said at the beginning, this aurora is stunning. I have yet to see the lights myself. I'm sadly deprived. Until I do see them, pictures like this will keep me eager for it.

When it comes to photography, Iβve always been a sucker for auroras, and this is certainly no exception. It immediately called out to me and demanded my attention, and Iβm glad Iβm here, quite frankly.

Youβve kept the foreground, which Iβll add makes for some nice scenery, necessarily dark in order to let the true focus shine, and my goodness itβs a beautiful capture. The long-exposed capture allows each colour to shine as sharp and as lucidly as possible, and in a sense, the shape of it kind of makes it a rainbow that one can only see at night time.

Overall, thereβs absolutely no fault I can find with this and it is certainly a most gorgeous picture. It leaves us to imagine what itβd be like if WE were the ones to sit on those rocks, watching the heavens put on a show. That is how a photo should connect with its viewers, in my opinion. Keep up the splendid work!
