I'm very sorry , but I have no idea! I'm just a beginner on MB 3D, too and to explain something about MB is to difficult for me. But maybe you could ask Sabine62,  she has a lot of

knowledge about MB 3D and she explains it really great, so even I understand things about MB better! Hope it helps!

Too much honour, Mitchel I am really still a newbie to mb3d as well, especially on the theoretical background. I think I understand that escapetime is the way it is decided whether a certain point on the xyz plane is part of the form of the formula you chose from the the tabs 3D to 4Da. Since I have no experience yet with the dIFS, I cannot say how it works for them. The escapetime transforms seem to be all formulae under ADS (and maybe others starting with and underscore, not sure though). They will change the way your form looks (deform it, add detail etc.) and you can use them as pretransform (before the form(s) itself, but then you must check 'Repeat from here' on the form's tab, so that one is unchecked on the pretransform) or as posttransform (after the form(s)). Well, at least, that is what I understand of the theory behind them and I may be wrong! I know how to use them though, at least enough to get some result most of the time For more and especially áccurate explanations you really have to go to sites like fractalforums.com. There there are people that really know what they are doing (which I don't (quite happily though ;} ))

I was asking about-  Escapetime Transforms - and you have given me the explanation I needed --and a link to get more info if I need it--
You are very kind--thank you very much

omg...lol... I think I will  "escape" from the escapetime transforms, that sounds  like some hard stuff...  I don't know much about theory, I just play with the buttons...but I hope Gipgm2 will understand this. Thank you very much for this quick answer and explanation! Very kind of you!
