Weeds
I was running down the alleys of my childhood.
I was flying through the valleys of my dreams.
My skin was the colour of earthen wood
and I cast my arms over rivers and streams.
The beasts turned coat at my command
the sun rose over sea.
before the rocks turned into sand
the land was known to me.
My brotherhood was real and full
in the circle of dancing arms
I wore the colours of my blood,
I drew the lines tween field and farm
The weeds go deep over so much time
the roots are endless sore.
And as I dig through history,
I remember more and more.
I held their heads against my breast
I smelled the youth in their hair.
Im sorry young ones I was lost
and I left you alone in there.
The boys went wild they said at last
they spread their arms and flew away.
Whirling off through times forgot
to places I cant say.
My hearts regret spurs memory
I cant apologise
enough to mend these broken dreams
or the sadness in their eyes.
I hope you dont mind me posting this here. It just struck me as so appropriate to the wonderful picture.
It was a dream I had last year.

Very interesting manipulation, the fact there are human figures within the tree in what seems to be suffering positions adds a very creepy touch of surrealism
