Description A really neato sketch I did some time ago of InuYasha and a big cat skull. Dunno why. Just thought he'd look cool posing with one.

I put this up in case I don't get "Llama-yasha" up this evening. I'm off to see How to Train Your Dragon! Keen!

How long ago did you draw this? You can definitely see how his facial structure has changed a little bit in comparison to how you draw him now.

I'm horrendously excited to see your llama, I kind of want to do one myself lol. You'll have to let us know how the movie is, as I've been wanting to see it for the longest now and everyone but me seems to be going to see it *sigh*.

So did you ever settle on clothing for Inupapa? Can't believe you find time to do all of this, you've always got a million projects you're doing, I envy your drive

Oh, as for my drive, I think I'd best not tell you about all the NON DA stuff I'm working on at the same time..... We've always got lots of irons in the fire!

*pouts* I feel so unaccomplished lmao. I got all excited when I built a raised flower bed a couple weeks ago, but I don't constantly crank out multiple artworks, plus research, plus a bunch of things I don't know about it seems. Can you bottle that up and send some my way?!

Well, I can tell you what really lit my fire. One day, in high school, I realized that time was ticking away and I was doing NOTHING with it. I could almost hear the ratcheting sounds of seconds clicking by on a counter and I could see my lifespan getting smaller and smaller. At that moment, I decided that I was going to fill my life with things I want to do and accomplish.

Now of necessity, that means that when I die, there will be some projects that will be undone or incomplete. I'm OK with that. As long as I was doing it right up to the last gasp. Then I could go knowing that I took advantage of the limited time given to me.

In a way, I suppose it's a mania. But I think it's a benign one, especially since I've had loads of fun and met tons of VERY cool people along the way!

Like you!

Hooooly crap, sorry life issues. Got a new job and have been wiiiped! But, I love my new job <333 soooo much, so it's worth it!

Starters: Awww, yay I'm a cool person! That means a ton coming from you! I very much enjoy and look forward to any and all comments you're able to take the time to respond with simply because you have an amazing mind, one that I enjoy picking. You are both scientific and artistic, and these traits allow you to be analytical and fact-driven, while still seeing the magic and beauty in things, which is rare. Usually I find people are one or the other in their thought processes.

I can understand the feeling of your life ticking away; I've had those moments on more than one occasion, and I only wish it would give me that kind of drive. I get the drive to change certain aspects of my life that have led to me feeling that way, and I always do, but almost never a project-oriented drive.

My perceived failures are that I haven't seen more of the world; I feel I can't be happy until I've nearly seen it all. I guess it's similar, just with different outcomes. When I get that feeling I typically travel to some capacity. We both get to meet awesome people though! But yeah, I feel the same as far as the 'up until the last gasp' sentiment.

Good eye! It is a bit older. And yes, I've slid into a slightly different way of portraying his facial features. I have an awful time trying to keep his eyes large since that goes against how I usually draw normal-sized eyes. It sometimes throws me off so bad that it takes several tries to get it nailed down. It took me WAY TOO LONG to get my current Inu no Taisho portrait straightened out. I think I have it now, and I'm working on putting him in a dark blue shiny satin kimono. (It's so HOT!) I'm still on the learning curve...

How to Train Your Dragon was GREAT! The dialogue is rushed, but the Chris Sanders dragon named "Toothless" is absolutely wonderful. He's done in hyper-realistic texturing and he is exceptionally well designed. I love him enough that I got back from the movie and promptly went to Amazon and bought the "Art of" book. I can't wait to see all of Sanders' conceptual drawings and development sketches. We paid full evening price and I firmly believe we got our money's worth. It was really, really fun. Now I want the Toothless toy...

Mmmmm, I'm very excited to see this! And I honestly think it's a good thing that your drawing style has altered slightly because while both versions are great, your most recent styles I feel more accurately portray a more mature, aged Inu. This one seems to me to be a bit younger, if not a bit 'softer' (at least in comparison to more present pics you've done), which does not reflect the hardening experiences you've described him going through in DoW. To me that's the great thing about art, you are ALWAYS learning, always changing, always growing, and your art will reflect that.

It is so wonderfully frustrating and comforting at the same time: you will never learn all there is to know, and it is impossible to be 'the No.1 best' at it, so while you strive to better yourself, you don't have to stress yourself out by competing with everyone else. At least that's my opinion, lol.

Awesome, I'm going to have to go see it when I get paid, I've heard a lot of good things. It looks beautiful, art and graphic wise, just from the previews, so I'm glad to hear someone mention that it is. Happy to hear you enjoyed your evening!

Hmm, I don't think his expression matches teh mood here, but I love teh style still none the less. ^^ The skull does add to it.

His expression doesn't match the mood? What kind of mood do you see?

When I drew this one, I was just shooting for a sort of portrait shot. His right arm is wrong, but I'm reasonably happy with at least 50% of it....

The skull makes a convenient prop when you don't want to make the sword too long....

well, his body looks kind of relaxed, and his expression is really, really tense. I mean, I was just giving my opinion.

ok then, I's just afraid to give my opinion often because most other artist can't take constructive critism, you're fine though.

Ack, I finished another message to you before I was actually done....

I wanted to say that I'm like you. I think that if there are fans of what I do, I am indeed grateful for each and every one!

And I don't mind criticism as long as it's kind and constructive and it does give a way to see my drawings from a different perspective. That's important, because it's real easy to get "too close" to a work and not be able to "see" it any more.

Well, the vast majority of people are just collecting images and don't want to be bothered with actually communication. To them, it's just entertainment. Then there's a large faction that just doesn't know what to say....
