Having a lot of fun going back to the original roots of Gigers Alien - (see link)i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/i…
Subsequent iterations through the years have somehow presented the alien in the movies and media as less streamlined and beautiful compared to Hans Rudi's original painting - so here's my new/old take on a xenomorph variation - there's also a full body portrait in progress, something quite different, but for now I wanted to share this close up, - stay tuned.

Cool design, but where is the sexuality and the overt genital symbolism? Seems more like an Alien re-design than an homage to Giger. But again, still looks cool.

Thanks CB, yes capturing the textures is key, the same creepiness, its all to do with the airbrush, simply cannot be achieved with a different medium.

Ha! Thank you, no I used the airbrush tool in Photoshop, - did I need to apply as many brushstrokes as Giger would have? - probably - probably a lot more, as he'd been practicing for far longer. It was satisfying though, and I feel a lot closer to knowing his techniques and methods and how he came to arrive at his results.

ahh i am a huge alien fan i just love the aliens design they are really awesome creatures and gigers art is always amazing and something i can stare at and marvel in for hours , this art work is so cool and im sure he would love the homage

While I think it is extremely well done, I think you've moved away from the sexual elements that dominated Giger's works; and in this context made the monster so horrific.
