So because i'm working on a short Steven Universe animation and need some original backgrounds i'm attempting to emulate the style of the background art for the show.
This is my first attempt at it and for about 2 hours work i think this came out really well.

Things to improve:
1) I started the clouds on one layer but some time in realized the line was jittery but because it was all one layer i couldn't fix it so from now on the highlight and the main cloud need their own layer.

2) I'm still working on trying to get the water to look like it does in the show but i'm sure i at least have the technique for it.

3) My version of the colour pallet isn't by far as dynamic as the shows, mine sits in the reds and light browns and needs way more variation.

Fun Fact- This actually started out as a Halloween picture with a comic book style foreground but while making the background i felt it didn't fit and because i didn't want to remove it i made it into an SU background piece.
