Description
Those two are Ina and her aide Shirin. Ina was paralyzed from the neck down several years ago in a car accident and is since then a bored vent dependent quadriplegic.Always at her side is ther aide and best friend Shirin. She is almost overprotective of her friend. The thing on Shirins head is supposed to be a headscarf, as she is a muslim.
They are from a sci-fi story I imagined. Ina is a pioneer of spaceflight which is the reason she wears this tight skin suit. Every sci-fy story needs tight-suits.

In the new future a technology for faster than light travel is developed. But to control the engine and make the proper calculations for each jump a kind of super computer is needed. The only way of creating this computer ist to melt the computer with a human brain. The person connected to the computer functions both as its main operator and also as part of its reasoning process to filter out uneccessary informations and calculations. The technology is at a highly experimental stage, and during first tests, an interesting issue occured. While the connection gives the operator an immense brain power and ability to performe multiple tasks at the same time, using it over extendet periods of time overloads your brain.
To make space for the extended information neccessary to control the computer, parts of lower functions of the brain are apparently irreversably deleted. Automated body functions began more and more to fail. The first operators to be connected became severely disabled during the process. They simply forgot how to move their legs. Some even their arms. Scientist were affraid that the paralysis could spread even more and stopped the tests.
To continue the experiments the scientist came up with an idea. Using already disabled people. If you can't move your body anyway, than it is no problem if your brain forgets how to move, right?

Before her accident Ina was an university student for astrophysics. Albeit not a very good student, the secret government agency developing the super computer and faster than light travel asked her to be the first long time operator of the super computer. Due to her disability she is unaffected by the side effects of the connection. (Or at least they told her so) IF the developement of the computer was a success, she could become the first operator on the first faster than light spaceship of humanity. (if she survives the tests)

Ina doesn't trust the government agency and the scientists at all, but has nothing to loose and agrees to the deal.
Now she lives in a secret underground research facility and serves as the scientist guinea pig. Luckily she managed to bring her aide Shirin with her.
Shirin is always suspicious of everyone around to be secretly trying to harm Ina. But surrounded by scientist and government officials this is quite understandable. Ina knows that Shirin is always there to protect her from harm.
Now the two are trying to manouver through the secrets, lies and scemes of the resarch facility and try to stay alive.
