Description
My first attempt ever to layer stack disparate exposures of the Full Moon. 4 different exposures taken 2 hours before the recent Lunar eclipse were transformed to High Dynamic Range (HDR) images, then aligned, then stacked with Photomatic to create a single image, which was then adjusted for correct white point and color balance. Like the eclipse photos, these photos were taken with a 127mm Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope and the 1D Mark III DSLR. Together, this comprises a 2002mm f/12 optical system. 16-bit TIFF was used for subsequent processing, which was done in Photoshop to create the black canvas and to tune for less chromatic aberration, in Light Zone to remap the highlights, and to convert to JPEG, with a final stop in Noise Ninja for noise cleanup.
