One of my favorite photography subjects too, along with wolves! Great shot! Was this behind glass?

I was not behind any glass. I was about 10 - 15 feet from them in the viewing area.

Ah, you're so fortunate in that. Ours are behind glass, which as you know, makes it a challenge to capture a good image. I was able to visit the San Diego Zoo a few years ago and I remember that their exhibit is an open air exhibit. **Sigh** Well, at least I have them to view and photograph! Even if I have to work around glass....

Aaww they're so cute & sweet !
Sometimes I would like to be a simple animal to live simply with not big problems and a plenty conscience full of suffering.

I adore these little guys. When I went to Taronga Zoo in Sydney they all came running up to investigate us

Show any englishman a pic of a meerkat and 9 times out of 10 they'll reply with "compaaaare the meeeerkat.com". Those tv ads have brainwashed us! Haha.
Superb photo, really crisp details. Needless to say I love meerkats. I have to. I'm english.
Peace, Lance
