Description
MP3s are convenient and I do buy them when its an artist I'm not too fond of except for a few songs. But for musicians that I really adore, I always like buying the entire physical album.

I still but CDs because I like holding something in my hands. I discovered Discogs.com about a year and half ago and it changed tells way I bought music! Everything is so specific and it was made for real collectors like myself!
I still buy a bunch of physical media because it sounds better, you can put it on display (I have a rack full of CDs in my headroom X3), and you get all of the extra stuff in the insert, the packaging, ETC.

I know what you mean.
Sure I like to buy from itunes, but I save that when I can't find the CD.
Better to have it in real life then digital.

It's so good to know Β that they are other young people like me out there that think like I do.Β
I have a diva sister that shudders of me being retro. But I say it's practical. CD's are just so great if you love the entire album.
It can be said the same to a bookworm that loves actual books.

How is buying cds old? I mean cds arent that new, theyre like 20 or 30 years old i think. So unless people stop making cds like they did with tapes then i guess you shouldnt feel old.

WE STILL EXIST! As in, people who buy CDs. I think your artist comment sums it up.
Most people I know get the stuff off of Frostwire or whatever. It's terrible!

Eh, downloading music like that makes me sad, especially when I hear of people doing it with artists I like.

I like my CDs
I know I'm not going to accidentally delete a CD. Plus, I like having all the artwork, and having something to actually physically *open* is much more exciting (to me anyway) than waiting for a file to download...

I love getting all the artwork and photos with a CD, especially when it comes with lyrics!

I started buying cds because my itunes library (which I'd spent over Β£200 on) kept disappearing. Internet-bought files are so immaterial that they aren't worth it. Physical things like vinyl and cds are much safer. I also love buying them just because of everything you get! I love everything! Plus I love my walkman. I make a point of listening to all new cds (at least the ones that I don't buy with magazines) on my walkman first. Anyway, it has shuffle and repeat. I'm pretty sure it can make playlists but I'm not really sure how... CDs are just so much better. Plus they introduce you to new music. Compilation cds are my new version of mass-downloading of unknown songs. You never know when you might find something awesome on an album!

Whoa, not good! I've lost a lot of music to computer crashes, too.
I love when you get nice photos and artwork in the booklets, too. And compilation CDs are awesome

Yeah x.x I found it eventually but I never really managed to fix it and all the music files killed my computer! I'm using a different hard drive now. I don't know whether it was the media files but they probably helped. Especially since every time I tried to redo my iTunes it made another library. It got to the point that it filled up so much space that I couldn't make a whole library. Kinda gave up after that... I ended up with about 5 copies of the same songs.
Oh man =/ That sucks!
Yeah the album booklets always look awesome! Sometimes you get a DVD too, like in Aerosmith's "Devil's Got A New Disguise" compilation my ex got me last year. I love that album. I got their Rocks one recently and it's amazing! Especially Last Child!
I prefer to go for compilation albums on new artists because you're going to get what are supposed to be the good songs as opposed to buying what someone told you was a good album. You also get a good range and variety usually. Opinions on best albums differ greatly anyway so they're not good to choose from because they depend on personal taste.

My iPod has frozen/boarderline died on me a few times, and then has come back to life, so I listened to the CDs while I attempted to fix it. Sometimes we just can't always trust modern technology.
