Alisa is skittish, it doesn't take much to scare her. But nothing, not even the night she lost her arm, can come close to the fear she was experiencing right now. Sitting in a chair, beside her incredibly injured friend, holding her paw and hoping that she'll wake up. It was very late, the clock read 11:45. Everyone else has already left but Alisa stayed behind, remembering all that Rubel has done for her during her time in the hospital she couldn't leave her now.

Rubel did eventually stirred awake. Alisa felt a huge wave of relief.

"R-Ruby?"

Rubel coughed, she was barely able to rasp out a word.

"L-Lisa?"

Rubel made an attempt to lift her paw only to quickly put it down hissing as she felt the pain in her severe burns.

"Careful, take it easy Ruby. You were burned pretty bad."

Rubel begin to cough and groan once more before turning her head towards Alisa.

"W-what do you mean? What happened?"

"From what I heard from Danny, there was a fire in the woods and a burning tree fell on top of you."

"...Fire?"

For Rubel this made sense. As she slowly begins to remember there was fire. Then she remembers the tree. Then lastly the pain, the overwhelming pain. The agony when the fire burned away her flesh. Each detail left Rubel shaking. Alisa got off the chair and climbed on the bed next to her and tried to carefully hug her. Only to hear Rubel hissing in pain and tears pricking at her eyes and feeling her shaking worsen.

"Ruby am I hurting you?!"

Rubel made an attempt to speak only to go into a coughing fit. Alisa immediately set her down apologetically.

"Could I get you anything? Water? Food?"

Rubel asked for water so Alisa wasted no time to go and get her a glass. After Rubel drank her water she pulled Alisa into a hug again which Alisa gladly returned.

"It's ok Ruby.. I got you"

Rubel's shaking finally seemed to die down and her body soon relaxed. Alisa then smiled a little.

"There we go. I'm right here and I'm not leaving her your side."

"Hey ... That's my line."

Rubel smiled weakly and laid back down while Alisa chuckled. But Alisa's expression soon saddened, something bothered her the whole time she was here as her gaze seem to have fallen on something else. This left Rubel very concerned and she tried to sit up, only to scream out in pain as she felt sharp pain in her leg. Alisa broke out her trance as her ears perked up and her expression panicked. She took Rubel's paw again.

"Careful Ruby! Easy there."

Rubel whimpered as her paws go to her leg. But her face almost immediately pales as she carefully removed the covers. What she thought was her leg was now a stub. Alisa flinched at the sight of the leg and tears pricked her eyes. While Rubel stared in shock, she almost hoped that this was some sort of trick of the mind. That her leg wasn't actually gone. She found herself shaking again. But sadly it was confirmed it was gone when she reached over and touched it causing her to cry out in pain and her shaking to worsen. Alisa's tears soon streamed down her face. Seeing her friend this way was heart breaking.

"I-I know."

She pulled Rubel into a hug once more. Rubel took a moment to look at her before her tears over flowed and she returned the hug. Alisa gently rubbed her back trying to bring a bit of comfort. Normally she would raise her body temperature to bring comfort but with all the burns she didn't feel like it was a good idea.

"I know Ruby I know. It's scary and it's going to hurt for a bit. But it's ok I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere. Your not alone."

Rubel continued to cry for a while. Alisa wished she knew what she could do for her, how to calm her down. Then she remembered a song, a song Rubel sang when she was in this state. When it was her crying and seeking comfort in a hospital.

I remember tears streaming down your face when I said i'll never let you go
When All those shadows almost killed your light.
I remember you said "don't leave me here alone.
But all that's dead and gone has past tonight

Rubel recognized the song, her crying soon slowed. This song brought comfort. She remembered singing this to Alisa. Soon she found herself joining Alisa as they sang the chorus.

Just close your eyes.
The sun is going down.
You'll be alright.
No one can hurt you now.
Come morning light.
You and I'll be
safe
and
sound

The two sang this song together. After all the crying and coughing Rubel felt drowsy and soon fell asleep to the sound to of the lullaby. Alisa curled up beside her holding her paw and looks at her sleeping.

"It's going to be ok Ruby. I'll help you through this"

With that she soon drifted into sleep beside her friend.
