Long overdue collaboration with my great friend & very talented Terragen artist Nick, aka `velociraptor . Nick and I have collaborated in the past and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to work together again. He expressed interest in my Chrysalis background story so he designed his part based on my description. The planet Chrysalis has a vivid electric blue atmosphere, with many ice fields snaking along the foothills of the great mountain canyons. The Chrysalis ice fields are the planet's largest source of energy, emitting an illuminated fog with no apparent host. There are frequent electric storms in the upper hills which produce deadly lightning and tornadic activity, all of which are controlled by the planet's superior dragon race. Here a Chrysalis dragon flies over his region, bringing with him his mighty gift. The rain from these storms evaporate upon reaching the ice fields, thus feeding the source to regenerate her energy.Terragen by Nick, my part painted in Photoshop. (Dragon, storm, etc.) Oh and if you don't mind, please full view because there are details that we don't want you to miss. Blue compression is evil!

You just need a little more detail on the scales. Like maybe you could put some black just a little but under each scale bc, the scales overlap each other. But other than that nice job...

This is rediculously childish. Surely you can use your appearent talent to produce a
dragon of higher caliber. An image of a dragon should carry with it a presence of
power and deep wisdom.
In other words, it looks nice, but it makes me sick. With a dragon being the main
focal point, certain measures should be taken to increace detail and convey the aura
,which a dragon should posses.
Also if you are going to make the dragon this size in the piece you should dedicate
a bit more to detail (scales and what not). It would be a bit better if he were scaled
down and placed in a corner perhaps with the current detail.
You have talent, but please do not mis-represent a dragon as most know it.

This is the style in which I work with dragons. They are my own; I create them from my imagination. There are no rules as to how a dragon is designed, as they are a fantasy creation. A presence of power and deep wisdom may look one way to you, but to another it could be interpreted from an entirely different perspective. If you do not like the piece as you have so clearly conveyed to me, that is fine. I welcome critique and I appreciate your desire to help me in the advancement of my skills. However, insulting the credibility of my work by calling it "childish" and complaining that it makes you sick only lowers my respect for you as a critic. I know you are intelligent enough and capable of expressing your opinions without the insults. Next time try and act on that.

Now that looks awesome. I love the effects on the terragen work(applauds Velociraptor), and the lighting on the dragon is qhat really catches my eye. I don't know about anyone else, but blue is my favorite form of lighting and tone. The atmosphere it creates is stunning, and there's no difference here. Each individual scale lit up looks awesome and the anatomy of the creatures itself looks marvellous. I love the small details and the effect the storm gives.

Oh, very very awesome indeed. Love the detailing and colors, perfect. The only thing that bothers me is that the cracks of lightening in the background seem to be too dull, otherwise

Wow. Im stunned this collaboration of you two really works!
This would make a stunning wallpaper, you'd just have to add a dark frame,
or something to cut the picture more to the attention of your eyes.

Could you give me some general idea or process on how you colored that in photoshop. Most of my drawings end up nice; but every time I try and color them, they look crappy.
