Description
Two of my biggest obsessions! Dragons are obvious of course, but what many of you don't know is that I am a storm chaser / amateur radio operator, and my partner Kyle & I volunteer every spring and through each storm season for the NOAA - National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. NOAA/Skywarn volunteers help get the warning out faster for people in the path of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. It's that time of year again and we have been getting prepared for the season. So out of inspiration, here is my swirly dragon-abstract tornado design.
More dragons with tornadoes to come, and I may color this one if I have free time. Comments/tips/suggestions appreciated!

That is awsome! And qutie a coisadance too. I am a storm chaiser as well. Dragons are a big part of my life too. I have my Amateur Radio License as wel but i don't have a radio to use quite yet. It's only a Technician's license but i plan too upgrade to Amature Extra next year or so. This is so neat!

I really like this. I love the way you did the dragon's wings. I like the tornado the way it is. I like the whole way this drawing makes me feel.
I love the dragon and I used to want to be a storm chaser growing up. I used to whine to go "watch" when we hid in the basement because of tornadoes.
Outgrew that when I had kids and the thought of me losing them or them losing me kicked in.
Anyway very good.
Do you also have photography of storms then? I love those. I will try to check your gallery soon but at the moment I am on dial-up and patience is a virtue I was not blessed with.

I love the drawing, it's amazing and beautiful. I love the curves in the dragon's body. The wings feel like silk strings against gems and the teeth in the dragon's mouth are menacing.

That is a very interesting idea, and very well done. I was unaware radio hams were involved in storm chasing and early warning. It sounds like a good and worthwhile activity. The only nit I'd pick is that I think the tornado is a little too solid-looking.

Cool! But yeah... you need to add some effects like debris and such so it looks more whispy and wind-like rather than a... carrot

Great, as always. But I think that you've got the proportions a little bit wrong. It looks like that the neck is attached to his right shoulder. The left "arm" is to far away from the head. Or what do you think?

The only thing I don't like that much is the ground....i think you did not have to draw all those small trees and stuff !
For me its a bit like the ground is stealing the pic's beauty!
But never the less its a real burner!

very very awesome. but i wouldnt really colour it- or rather would only use one other colour in the design ie: green or red anyways very cool. i also love dragons and crazyass weather is something im greatly interested in [hence my studies in environmental sciences] very cool.

i like the abstractness of the tornado. it leaves us to focus more on the great details of the dragon. a silver/grey tornado with dark/black background and the dragon in shades of blue and saphire would look pretty sweet. though that is just my humble opinion.

Maybe make the tornado a tad bit more see-throughish? Like, make some outlines of the dragon visible so you know it's not a solid thing like the person said about the carrot.
