Description
Two of my biggest obsessions! Dragons are obvious of course, but what many of you don't know is that I am a storm chaser / amateur radio operator, and my partner Kyle & I volunteer every spring and through each storm season for the NOAA - National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. NOAA/Skywarn volunteers help get the warning out faster for people in the path of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. It's that time of year again and we have been getting prepared for the season. So out of inspiration, here is my swirly dragon-abstract tornado design.More dragons with tornadoes to come, and I may color this one if I have free time. Comments/tips/suggestions appreciated!
No. 2 pencil, drawing paper. Flash designed for my cousin.

This is amazing! The swirl strokes in the tornado are so smooth, and the curl of the dragon's tail around the tornado is so awesome... I love tornadoes as well, but I've never seen one in real life.. I just enjoy the Discovery Channel specials :3 Nice work.

This is awesome Dragons and tornadoes are two of my biggest obsessions too, so it's beyond cool to see them both in a pic like this. I have a picture of a water spout in my gallery if you want to see it: [link]

i did a project in school last year that had to do with NOAA. we had to interview a person that has to do with the fish industry. something about passing on the secrets to fishing and we had to learn some stuff about cod.
nice dragon! as usual, you are an excelent artist! keep it up!

Wow, you did a reat job on this. The tornado is more impressive than the dragon I think. I wouldn't even know where to begin drawing wind, but you did it in a very convincing way. I'm also noticing the intricacy of the scales too. It's a great peice and a great idea.
One thing though, if you catch this comment, what are your dragons wings made of? Your dragons always have me confused there because they don't look like any wings I've seen before. They're cool, but they seem... I dunno... floppy? How do they fly? lol.

That's awesome that you are doing that! I've heard about the disastors in Florida and everything and I felt so awful for the people, a long time internet friend of mine had a tree go through the back of her car! It's good to know that there's people out there who have a job to warn people in advance of our Mother Nature's fury XD!

Nifty. Although I agree with that first comment, the tornado's a leeeettle too bland. It wouldn't really take away from the dragon much if more debris were added, since the dragon is so heavily detailed and eye-catching on its own.

Heh...maybe I should be thanking you profusely for the prompt storm warnings since I'm in Kansas too
Very interesting concept. I never would have thought to blend these two together. Here's to nature's furies, both real and imagined!
