"So, you're the one that's been causing all of this havoc?! Why? People deserve freedom and choice! Not blind obedience...I am Diana of Themyscia, Daughter of Hippolyta Queen of the Amazons. In the name of everything good in the world, I will destroy you! I fight on the side of justice and truth, and I most certainly won’t be beaten by the likes of you!”She scowls, drawing her blade and readying her shield. She looks ready for a fight to the death, and she doesn’t look particularly intent on losing.

"Maybe, perhaps, because I was too busy enthralling the minds of every man, woman and child in that city to bother wasting my efforts on a vain, foolish little girl like yourself?"
She appears entirely unfazed by Diana's weapon, not reacting in the slightest.

*she grips her sword tightly with anger* Don't you patronize me you vile woman! *she lunges at you, sword in hand as her hands shake with rage*

Still, she does not react, watching patiently as the gleaming tip of Diana's 'God Killer' sword draws ever closer.

*she's about to bring the sword down onto her, landing a deadly blow in mere seconds from now*

Still, she does not react, remaining still even as Diana's sword passes cleanly through her head and chest. Not a single fleck of blood fills the air, nor does Diana feel even the slightest resistance as her blade cleaves the woman apart. She simply vanishes from sight, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

*she looks shocked as the blade passes right through her foe* What the....?

The woman's voice chimes up from behind Diana, and she stands there, totally unhurt.
"Are you quite done with your little tantrum, Diana?"

*she whirls around* What kind of magic is this?! Circe? Is this you?!

"You know, you do look awfully silly, swinging your sword around and yelling at people who aren't there. Are you sure you're feeling alright, Diana? Hallucinations can be a sign of all sorts of nasty things...when was the last time you slept?"

"I haven't slept because I've been looking for you! Only Circe has this type of magic! This is impossible!"

"Circe? Please. That delusional little witch WISHES she was like me. Diana, please stop trying to figure this out, you're embarrassing us both. Your tiny little mind can't possibly comprehend the true gravitas of this situation."

That's because I have no idea what's going on! *she stamps her foot* Explain to me! What have you done!!

The woman can't help but chuckle as Diana stamps her feet like an irritated toddler.
"You are positively adorable. And, it's simple, really: exactly as I told you before, my mind is powerful enough to enthral this entire populace and bind them to my will...were you truly arrogant enough to believe yourself superior to me?"

I am not adorable! Don't call me adorable! Let the people go! And I won't be forced to hurt you!

She chuckles, stepping forward without fear and cupping Diana's chin in her hand, gently smooshing her cheeks together, forcing her lips to pout.
"You ARE adorable, Diana. And, please, we both know you couldn't hurt me, however hard you tried."

*without warning she angrily tries to headbutt her as hard as she can*

Again, the woman simply vanishes, and when Diana's eyes open again, she is stood a short distance away, smiling pleasantly.
"Aww...SO cute that you keep trying."

*she lets out another angry cry, attempting another sword swing in an act of pure rage*

Predictably, the same thing happens once again. The woman appears behind Diana, letting out a huge yawn.
"Seriously Diana, you look ridiculous doing that..."

*her sword clatters to the ground in defeat* What do you want then? How can I convince you to stop this assault on the city?

"Oh, absolutely nothing. You're totally powerless to stop me, Diana, and there isn't anything you can do. But there is one thing you can do FOR me..."

*she grits her teeth* And what would that be?

"You can go to SLEEP."
The word hits Diana like a pillow to the face. Suddenly, she finds herself stumbling, struggling to keep her eyes open as she fights back a huge yawn...

"Huhh...? Ohh...s-sleep? B-but I'm not tired...." *despite her struggle, she lets out a long yawn*

"Stop fighting it, you silly, stupid little girl. You can't possibly resist my power, you just don't have the strength. You're so tired... You don't even have the strength to lift that silly little toy sword of yours..."

*her sword clatters to the ground as she tries to futilely resist* I'm....not stupid! Or silly!

"It's well past your bedtime, little Diana. Time to SLEEP."
She reaches out, lightly tapping a finger against Diana's forehead. She's so exhausted that this is enough, and the next second her shapely, star-spangled rear is bouncing against the floor.

*she's on the ground, the once strong and powerful amazon reduced to a sleepy and drained girl*

The woman leans over her, smiling as the entire world seems to sway, gently rocking Diana off to sleep.
"Good night, Diana."

"Good....night...?" *with that, she drifts off into sleep, snoring*

Diana couldn't say for how long she slept.
It might have been minutes. It may have been weeks.
Regardless, when she eventually woke, she felt fantastic. It had been easily the most refreshing sleep she had ever experienced, in the comfiest bed in the world, and she felt amazing. It was as if the weight of the world had been lifted from her shoulders, and all the stress and responsibilities had been plucked right out of her pretty little head, leaving it full of only happiness and warm, contented feelings.
As she sat up in bed, yawning and stretching, trying to shake herself into an alert state of wakefulness, the first thing that struck her was how very, overwhelmingly pink her surroundings were. The walls, the soft, fluffy carpet, the pretty flowery curtains, and the impossibly comfortable bed, all were varying shades of pink, as if plucked straight out of a Perfect Princess doll set.

*she looks around and yawns cutely and sleepily* "Huh...it's really pretty in here...where am I?" *she looks around her surroundings further, not wanting to get out of the amazing bed*

Even Diana's clothes - a loose pyjama top and matching trousers - are pink, a soft, delicate pastelly shade, and decorated with lots of pretty little butterflies.
The bed was so warm and snuggly and comfortable that, for a second, it almost lulled Diana back off to sleep... But she needed to get up. Something in the back of her mind seemed rather insistent, she needed to get up. It was important, she just knew, but she couldn't quite place why.

"What in the name of the Gods am I wearing?" *she stands up, very confused* "This is...absolutely strange..."

A gentle trio of knocks sound at the door, followed by a quiet, familiar voice.
"Diana? Sweetie, are you awake?"
... Mother?

*she blinks, stunned. She knew for a fact that she wasn't back on the island* "M-mother? Is that you?"

"Of course, Diana. Who else would I be?"
She replies, with a kindly little chuckle.

*she heads to the door, starting to open it* But...shouldn't you be back home? Who will rule the amazons?

"The Gods, of course, as they always have. Do not forget, Diana, I am merely an instrument of their will, as we all are."
Stood behind the door is Queen Hippolyta, looking almost exactly as Diana remembered her, with her golden blonde hair, kind smile, steely blue eyes, and simple white robes, with their delicate gold embroidery. The one and only difference between this woman, and the image of her mother Diana remembers, is the absencd of her gleaming golden tiara.

"Oh, mother!" *she pulls her mother into a close hug* I'm so happy you're here! I've been protecting the people, just as I told I would.

She returns the hug, pulling Diana into her comforting embrace.
"I am so proud of you, my beautiful daughter. How are you this morning?"

"Where are we mother? And why is my room so....pink?" *she ushers at her dollhouse of a room*

Hippolyta releases Diana from her hug, regarding her with a bemused smile.
"Because this is how you wanted your room to be?"

"I don't think so...but okay? You didn't answer me, where exactly are we?"

"Do you not remember, Diana? You picked out these colours yourself... Oh... Are you feeling quite alright?" concern creases her brow as she reaches up, placing her hand against Diana's forehead.
"Diana, sweetie, we are in your bedroom, at home on Themiscyra..."

We can't be...that's impossible. Absolutely impossible...you said I could never come back...after I left. *she briefly considers this, then gives herself a hard pinch*

It hurts, enough to prompt a pained little yelp.
Hippolyta frowns with concern.
"Diana, I think you may have had a nightmare. I suppose this is what I get for letting you stay up past your bedtime..."

"Mother, I'm a grown woman. I don't need a bedtime." *she crosses her arms* What's going on here....?! What did that witch do?

"Witch?"
Hippolyta can't help but smile at Diana's confrontational stance...
"Oh, you always get so cranky when you don't get enough sleep...would you like to go back to bed for a few minutes?"
