Going along with the DC ABCs: [link] we have Empress from the old 90's comic Young Justice. Now I got to be honest, as much as I like the current cartoon show, I really did not like the old Peter David scribed book. It was about that time I started to feel that whatever magic he used to bring to his comics, he was losing it. (Seriously, the first issue had the trio of Impulse, Superboy and Robin fight a villainess named "Mighty Endowed" who possessed large gravity-handicapped breasts. Now, I appreciate a good pun for a name as well... But the entire time while reading the first bunch of issues from that series, I felt like I did watching 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back', where I know these are supposed to be jokes... But I'm just not laughing. And I couldn't help but to think that I wasn't the target audience. Anyway, Empress here came from after I had dropped the book from my old comic shop's pull list. (This was about that time I stopped reading a lot of DC and Marvel books, as I mentioned with C for Cir-El.)I know nothing about her, other than her real name is "Anita Fite", which another one of those pun names, that I SHOULD appreciate... I wouldn't mind catching up and reading up on her, but I'm sorry... She only appeared in a book I DON'T want to read. So I literally have no opinion or knowledge about her. I was thinking maybe she'd show up on the new Young Justice show, and fill me in with some information, but it looks like they passed on her for Artemis, who I've grown to rather like.

Yeah. I already read the real Young Justice from 1999 way before the cartoon YJ and I already read this character Empress and I want her to be in season 3. If YJ season 3 MUST happen that I wish. -_-

I loved Empress, she was a fantastic character. Incredibly different from your typical teen sidekick. I was a huge fan of the old Peter David YJ series, but I'll admit it started off very rough. In the end though it was a fun series, which sadly, can't be said about many these days.

you forgot to mention that her father was part of the Secret Service (or something similar) and his partner's name was Madd. So, Fite-N-Madd were also one those recurring puns.

I liked the YJ comic... it wasn't great, but it had its moments. about one every 4 issues.
Short description on Empress. Daughter of Agent Fite, godchild of agent Madd (who together were Agents Fite'n Madd). Also somehow related to the ruler of a country of supervillains. Only one good thing came out of that arc, and that was having Arrowette's mother kill someone. She wasn't a great character, and doesn't show up much, but I have a feeling we'll probably see her if YJ gets another season. I really just wanna see Slobo.

She showed up in an issue (or arc maybe) in Supergirl's run prior to Flashpoint. But yeah Empress was largely sidelined except for the occasional cameo since Young Justice ended. I however never fail to laugh at the amusing Mighty Endowed.
