Just looked up who Misfit is. I've gotta say, this is a great idea.
To be frank though, not that original. Charlotte here would be a teenage version of Sam Beckett, with powers.

Well, here's where the idea actually came from. Originally I was going to draw a Silver Age cover for her, since last year I drew a Golden Age one. (Complete with a time appropriate costume.) And then I started thinking about others versions, like the Bronze Age (fishnets, trenchcoats and spikey hair), Iron Age (giant shoulder pads and a big knife) and even a Nu52 version, complete with high collars and seams. Then I started thinking of other versions, like a Sailor Scout version, a Tokugawa period samurai version, a medieval version, a cowboy version, and even a spacegirl one. And they all sounded really cool and fun to me. And since I didn't have time to draw each one of them, I thought about a concept that would allow her to be each one on them... Time travel.
So I gave thought to it, thinking about something Gail Simone said last year about her, I thought if she was teleporting at the same time Barry Allen altered the time stream, perhaps that would bork things up enough that her teleporting powers would become dimensional jumping powers.
And let's face it... Quantum Leap was a fun show.

Giant shoulder pads and big knives. So the 90's were known as the iron age?
Yeah, "Quantum Leap" was great. I was very delighted when I got Netflix and found it there.

There's some debate of the naming and time periods, but generally the ages go like this:
Pre-1938: Platinum Age
1938-roughly 1960: Golden Age
1960-roughly 1975: Silver Age
1975-roughly 1985: Bronze Age
1985-current: Iron Age, sometimes called Dark Ages.
And I would say that around 2010, we entered a new age. I like to call it the Titanium Age, but knowing comic fans, they'll call it something non-traditional like the Silicon Age or something stupid.

Heh. Considering all the reboots and retcons they've been coming up with, which is basically recycling old stories and ideas, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd started calling it the aluminum age.
