Let's be honest: The only reason people cast AJ in the role of the Engineer is that they both have Southern accents. AJ otherwise doesn't fit the role of the Engineer at all. For that matter, neither does Pinkie as the Pyro, or indeed, half of the typical TF2 ponies... The only one that makes perfect sense is Rarity as the Spy...

Before, I may have thought so, but it doesn't provide the sentry any protection. Instead it is to show that the sentry is being controlled manually through the use of the wrangler. During the use of the wrangler, the sentry can only shoot targets that the player selects and will not fire automatically at the closest enemy player; when the player stops using the wrangler the sentry will shut down for several seconds before resuming normal automatic operation. The major benefit of the wrangler is that it makes the range of the sentry indefinite in manual mode as apposed to its limited targeting range in normal auto mode.

Actually, the Wrangler does generate a shield effect on a sentry while active - it reduces incoming damage by 2/3rds.Β
