What are you talking about? Who told you having a southern accent make you a weapons engineer? This art piece isn't implying it, nor is the artist. Yes, people do relate AJ to Engi because of her accent, but that not implying that ALL people with southern accents are Engineers.

Oh I just get annoyed at the AJ engie thing. Saying that people think AJ is engie just becuase of her accent even thou she has zero engineering skills. It's like saying I'm a lumberjack just becuase I'm canadain.

Huh... Never new people can actually get annoyed about this match up. I always found it kinda cute honestly. But really though, People matched those two because AJ was the closes pony to relate to engi in this crossover, and not just for their accents, but their personality too. They are both tough and hard working, and are very supportive to their friends/ team. People would think Twilight would be a better choice just 'cause they are both smart, but that's just it. Then it all comes down to numbers, and seeing as AJ has more similarities then Twi, thats why people match AJ and Engi together.
Come to think of it. Looking at your argument, the other match up in this crossover don't make sense either. Rarity doesn't have a french accent, nor is she deceptive. Fluttershy has no medical training. Twilight is not a marks man, nor a hit man. Big Mac is not a big mouth russian with a fetish for heavy artillery. Pinkie is not sex-unknown, nor a pyromaniac. Rainbow does not have a Bostonian accent, nor is she a prima donna. And most importantly: non of them have any weapons, and military training training.
