Description Corbae Hybrid refernce, for fun.

The Head and Neck: Thick mane of feathers that cover midway down the shoulders and the chest region. The beak is short and powerful (similar to a jackdaw's) and able to break bone. The eyes are large, corbae have excellent low-light vision, and any colour from dark reddish brown to pale blue-green or grey.

The Body: The chest is large, powerful and vaguely human shaped. Although anchoring the powerful flight muscles, strong bones and powerful lungs, the body is only half a human's weight; this is because the bones are hollow and the lung have spread to create air sacs in the chest cavity.

The Wings: The shoulder joints are rotation-airy, allowing the corbae to hover like a kestrel. The wings could break a man's arm if so desired due to the flexible, hollow but tough bones.
The wing fingers are tucked out of sight when folded or flying, only seen when used in manipulating an object or striking with the semi-retractable claws. The fingers are covered with soft down, the underside is scaly and padded like a dog paw. Three digits, one opposable to replace the thumb, still exist while fingers four and five form the rest of the wing bones.
The wings fold like normal bird wings.

The Legs and Tail: The tail is used as a rudder and assists in breaking in flight. The legs are shaped like an emu's or therapod's with an opposable toe situated higher on the foot; just below the ankle. The claws are semi-retractable, when fully extended they resemble falcon talons.
The legs are tucked beneath the body in flight.

Cool sketches. They look like they were done rapidly, but the forms are well defined.
