Flying around Darwin IV's montane regions are 2 meter creatures known as Springwings.  Gliding around on wings like small gliding lizards on Earth, they traverse the gaps between the craggy peaks with relative ease, never flapping their gaudily colored wings.  They have hyper developed balance organs on the sides of their heads, the twin fins, and are tripedalian, with a hindspur and two legs.
