what are the purposes of those little spots between the eyes? the things that look like water drops? are they just sensors?

bees,damselfly,dragonfly alot of different insects have them..there eyes..sort of light and dark sensors..helps them see in the dark..so really you could say they have 5 eyes.

whoa, those are some awesome pics, and very interesting "faces". They looks flawless specimens with a crystal clear shot. Its weird how they have different colored eyes, let alone different face structures.
