Description My first stamp... I know the words are all over the place on the frames. Forgive me.

I just wanted to point out something...
People argue religion ALL THE TIME, but it will get them NOWHERE for there is no common ground to debate...

enjoy I guess... lol

There definatley is no common ground for either. Unless you're talking about Liberal Atheists...

Actually there is a common ground, it is called social morality and applications of such. As well as what is factual and what is not.

It's not so much arguing for some as it is Atheists trying to show Christians that what they believe has zero merit. But call it what you like.

Seems as if you're being biased yourself right about now
No religion has a smoking gun
(although one may have a burning bush)

Point is... There's no proof for anything

I'm not biased. I'm educated and in touch with the real world. Maybe I should have said 'religions' rather than 'Christians' so as not to pin it all on one religion, but the fact still remains. There's plenty of proof for species evolving, there being no 'intelligent designer' of our world, etc.etc. but religions have something over those who live in the real world: if you turn down the theory of God, you risk going to a made up 'hell,' while turning down believable theories of the real world only means you give up your free thinking. Who the hell cares about that?

I agree that religions seem to act idiotic too often
I myself am Pagan
I'm against the ideas of organized religion

I read your comment wrong ><
Thought you were hating on atheists

For me that's true. I no longer see the point in arguing over such. I just believe in what i want to believe.

I am a Catholic, and I admit that I used to take part on such debates. But then I realized, if I force the argument into which side wins, that would just make it say that Christianity is the "perfect" religion.

Sad to say, there's no such thing as a perfect religion and there will always be flaws in every one.

So true
I was chatting a friend the other day and all of the sudden a group of poeple started talking about "god our savor" an how we owe our lives to jesus chist and the mighty lord and all that.
And I just continued chatting for a while but it began to get ridiculious so I kindly asked them to please stop.
So some of them started yelling at me about being athesist -.- and I was just like "wtf?" If you believe in god that gives you no right to yell at me for not beleiving in him. I'm not going to argue you with you about it because I KNOW it won't lead to anything. You have your beliefs and I have mine

I think your right, since everyone seems to have a different view on how it should be achieved. And no-one seems to have any idea how it CAN be achieved.

Almost no one...

Imagine, if you will, a program that exists outside of govt. and religion. A program that teaches its students that every decision has a consequence, that these consequences can be predicted and harmful actions avoided. A program that is based entirely on the individuals character and their ability to think, reason, and make decisions for themselves, always for the betterment of themselves and society at large. Actually creating in that person a desire to make right choices.

The program exists, it works, and I think peace is not too far fetched a goal.

If we can teach this program to our leaders.

as much as I think this is amazing... I'm cynical to the point that I feel this will never catch on. Humans, by nature, are too steadfast in their ideas

chivos In reply to Macropus-Rufus [2009-08-25 03:23:37 +0000 UTC]

is true, but it is catching on in some areas. Slowly, because of mistrust, but it is gaining momentum.

Lorado, Texas is one place this program has really taken off.
