You know, I have been thinking... Many of my comics suffer from the same problem. It takes far too long for them to get to the interesting part. For example: Azarath Metreon Shrinkos needed 3 out of 6 pages, CrossOvered I needed 11 out of 18 pages and the second part is currently at page 9 and still just getting started with the interesting stuff.

So before I start a new series, I wanted to change some things about the way I produce things and with the help of my older brother I came to a conclusion.

As I explained above, my next project will have a concept I didn't use before. And it goes as following:

Instead of a comic like I usually do them (with the black borders and the dialogue inside the pictures) I'm going to make it a comic-novel-hybrid.

So, what do I mean by that? It's actually pretty simple.

It's like writing a story, but every few paragraphs there will be a picture to illustrate what's happening.

So insted of this:

:Man is inside car:

:Man grabs door of car:

:he openes it:

:he get's out:

:Man closes car door:

:He looks at house:

:Man goes to house:

:Still walking:

:He's at the door:

:Knocking at the door:

:Waiting:

:still waiting:

:door's opening:

:women is standing inside of it:

...it will be more like this:

:Man inside car:

Our protagonist, Man, is insde of his car. Man is getting out of his car and walking (while maybe thinking or talking) to the house of the women who is now established.

:Knocking at the door:

He is knocking at the door. While he is waiting he can establish himself or the woman a bit more. Then he hears steps from inside the house. The door get's opened.

:Women is standing inside of said door:

etc.

(the writing will be much better in the real project, this was just a short demonstation of the structure. PS: :thing: means picture of "thing", if you haven't guessed)

The advantages of this style are in my opinion:

- a better way of story telling and character building

- less pictures wasted to introductions, talking and stuff like that

- less pictures needed overall so the project can get made faster

But that's just an idea.

Please tell me what you think or if the idea is really dump and I should just keep making my comics like I used to.
