Description
I just can't get enough of this beauty. This Class 770 locomotive is privately owned. I really like its livery.Vrútky, Slovakia 16.9.2018

Hard to tell, I think that shorter one can be considered as front. No doubt that visibility is slightly better if it is driven that way. But it can be effectively used in both ways.

In North America the short end is usually the front, but in any case, the letter "F" is stenciled at the appropriate end. Even locomotives that are double-ended with 2 cabs have one designated as the "front". It's a legal requirement in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

I see, thank you for this information. I'm always interested in learning something new about American railways.

Thank you John! Polish owned Class 770/771 (Polish designation S200) locomotive that I wanted to photograph was not present in town of Bytča, but instead I took some pics of 771 in Žilina railway depot, and then I met this 770 on my way home. It was like heaven sent to me.
