Comparison of past and present through the picture. Linapo furniture factory, previously known as "Nový Domov" (New Home) was big complex of industrial buildings located in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia. It produced furniture for almost a century. Some of the oldest buildings in the complex were built in late 19th and early 20th century, because of this it had certain degree of historical protection as landmark. So after production ceased, factory was staying idle for some time. Unfortunately it was destroyed by fire, most probably arson, around year 2008. Because it was located on lucrative location near town center it was quite obvious that somebody wanted it to be demolished. Shortly afterwards, a big shopping center was build on the same place... how typical. This corner building is all that was spared. It was reconstructed and its restaurant and some shops now.
