In my videos on the My Little Pony series, I have always refered to Celestia as Princess Exposition. Because that's all she ever does... In season 5 though, she doesn't spout her usual expositional dialogue (...because she hasn't turned up yet)....This was funnier in my head.

How do you feel about her after her goofy moment at the end of Make New Friends but Keep Discord and her bickering with Luna in Slice of Life? I think they're doing good so far expanding her character and that she may even turn into a good character if they keep it up.

I think she did have good points in certain areas such as contrasting with Luna. I like how Celestia work's like the sun and is more like a widespread rolemodel where Luna is like the moon, up close and personal with her dream visits :3

Twilight can't be Princess Mary Sue because she has way too many flaws that she struggles with. She isn't perfect and doesn't act like she's perfect. If you look back at a lot of the episodes in MLP, you would notice this.

True, she talks a lot. But like a lot of charaters in this show I think there's more to her character then just that. That little moment in Swarm of the century were she tells Twilight she's been called away because of "an infestation". You'll probably know Josh Scortcher loved that moment, and quite frankly so do I. I love how subtly mischievous she can be, another example in Bird in the Hoof, where the cakes keep pouring her tea as she empties the cup, so she pretends to drink leading to the tea spilling over. "Got-cha!" Its just a shame the best of her character often occurs of screen.
So yeah, I personally like Celestia as well as Luna, in fact I don't think there's a character in the show I truly hate (Some come close like Snips and Snails, Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon and Sunset when she was a villain, but really I'm just indifferent to them).

Why is it whenever I make a joke about a character that people instantly think I don't like them? Most of what she says in the show is expositional. Just an observation.

Oh drat, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me, I wasn't meaning anything along those lines, I never meant to imply you didn't like her. I like the joke as well, I just was saying how I view the character. But you're right I could have worded it better. Again I'm deeply sorry.
