Headcanon: Billa visits Thorin every day after finishing her duties for Erebor’s restoration (as consort she takes Thorin’s place, due to his battle injuries). When Thorin sees how exhausted his hobbit is, he convinces her to lie down, despite her protests of being fine, and holds her until they fall asleep.
Sometimes Balin finds them like this. He smiles at the sight, and lets them be, if only for a few much-needed moments.

Excuse me while I fawn over this because it's beautiful. The coloring is perfect, their expressions are amazing. It really just inspires me. Especially as a writer of Fem!bilbo, I appreciate this. You capture things in one image that I attempt to capture in chapters of write. THAT, my dear, is talent.

Oh my gosh, your lovely comment just made my day. Ugh, I'm blushing. Thank you so, so much, I'm really glad you liked my painting. I like capturing moments of peace of characters whose lives are really hectic, and cuddling is a great way to communicate that; for all its innocence, it's pretty intimate with the level of trust the characters have in one another (like "I can let my guard down. I'm safe with you.")

Ah, darling, you are most certainly welcome. I'm just happy that you share such lovely talent with all of us here. It's so beautiful and inspiring and I enjoy it so very much.
I'm particularly fond of this one because it's such a peaceful, vulnerable moment. Their guards are down, they are exhausted and just clinging to the knowledge that the other is beside them. It IS intimate and soft and peaceful. And it seems to be the only way they truly get any rest, yes? Soul mates do that, don't they. You never feel complete without the other beside you, never rested or content unless that happens.
Gah, now I have all sorts of fun ideas for writing...little snippets you've inspired!
And yes, I write Fem!Bilbo. I rather enjoy it, actually. it's a fun way to look at stories.
