Description
Me (playing Tekkit) and a friend of mine (playing vanilla minecraft).(just started to using "GIMP 2" for the text and don´t really now how to get the text in the right angle. If someone know a better programm for that I would be really thankful.)

Real One: Buildcraft, I still remember my custom mod pack, ferullo's guns, Portal mod, TMI and 5 more.

I'd like to say, that Fluttershy is right. In game means vanilla. All mods are expansions, and you can get infinite complexity. So talking about mods as game is wrong.

I don't think they were talking about mods as a game. More as playing a MODed game versus playing a Vanilla game. As to being an entirely different experience. If you don't believe in mods then that is cool. Not all mods expansions though mods can add infinite complexity. They extend the game play and give more value for the game. Though often time. Expansions for Console Versions are based off PC player mods. Just refined and tweaked for the Console system.

I get the same thing with my Console Friends who play Skyrim when I talk about my mods. They would go on about the cool graphics, there fully crafted dragon armor and their new house.
Then I would say. Ya that's cool, but check out my HD 2k Textures with realistic water, dust and weather. Oh and check out my Dwemmer Sniper Riffle and Mass Effect armor. Oh, and my house. Ya I have a large flying boat that I travel the skies in and hang my hat.
They just drop there jaw as I smile. HA! Vanilla! How cute.

Yeah, sniper rifle and armor is NOT. from the game. So yeah, your friends have the edge here. They actually talk about the game. You're talking about different games, such as Mass Effect and others(NOT Skyrim).

I get the feeling you may have miss understood me. Or I don't get what your talking about. I am talking about the same game as my Console (Playstation/Xbox) friends. Skyrim! I had (have not played in a while since so many other games) Sniper Riffles and Mass Effect (looking) armor. It look exactly like what Tali had. Very well done.
So when they would talk about how they thought the graphics were great and some of the items they found. I would heavily promote how much you can do on a PC versus a Console system. Though I do love my console systems to. Just games like Minecraft and Skyrim. PC is far better.

I'm not talking about graphic packs. I'm talking about adding stuff that doesn't fit the game. Such as guns in minecraft or futuristic weaponry in a shooter, based on modern times. That I don't like, and consider as an expansion, that breaks the spirit of the game. Mod, that give trains to minecraft? ok, you can compress diamonds in a block on a bench, why not a steam powered thingy on rails? Potions that are different to existing? Yes. But even this already is not the game. It is expansion. So no matter the arguments, the most complex thing in minecraft is cake, and not that mining machine made out of pipeville.

I get you don't like mods. Your a lore friendly only or anti-mod. That's cool. I myself love mods. I still play Morrowind cause of mods. I play all my games through at least once in Vanilla (well except for graphic upgrades to make it look as pretty as I can get). Then if it is a game that can be modded like Skyrim. I will look at what is available and possibly add several. Yes, many of them brake the lore and would never fit in the games world. I don't care. It's just how I like to play.
Though this was never about how you felt about mods. I simply was originally relating with the artist on there thoughts they had about how there friends play. Yes it would seem that Cake is the hardest, most complex thing to make in Minecraft "VANILLA". The artist is obviously a modder like myself. They want to expand beyond what most casual players are doing. Minecraft in essences is world for you to create as you wish. You build and make what you want. You made a Cake. Congrats! Now come help me build this working computer.
Fluttershy and Dash are enjoying your vanilla world with it's limitations. Pinkie and Rarity are enjoying there Modded world were anything is possible. Neither is a better place to play as long as you are happy.

I'm not fully against mods, I just don't consider them "in game". They extend the game play, and I'm against mods that do not make sense in the context of game. So, the "miner is the most complex thing in game" is wrong. It's not a game, it's a mod...

Well final word on this. The whole comic and even this debate was never about what is more complex. It's about difference between vanilla and modder game view. My original post, the artists description and even the comic had nothing to do with what is more complex.
Anyway, good discussion.
