Oh no! With Penelope it's all politcal intrigue, cavalry and sculptures... If you ever have a spare afternoon you should read all 54 installments of the 69th Tight Corsets (IMO the text is far more interesting than the illustrations)

Thank you kindly for teaching me a new word (a posh word for a "Fritter", I'm just too vulgar
, can't wait to try it out at the baker's)

Many thanks for your lovely comment - I felt I needed a little femininity among all the crewe cut, armour clad vamps

Fantastic scene my friend The depth of field going on in the background really lends attention to your beauty in front, but the blur is gentle enough that your details are still there. And also the attention to detail in the background makes the depth of field all the more believable so don't feel bad in the least. Your details are coming out in so very many ways. Of course since you have that separate you now have it to use again. Perhaps the background sharp and the foreground blurred, as someone looking over their shoulder focusing across the street. Is she being followed?

Thanks as always NICELabs, I had imagined that by doing it this way, it would "cook" miles faster but I didn't notice much difference ... The mysteries of the computer gods. I do have plans for "33 Connaught Crescent", but I still have to deal with the other two who've just been captured
....And clean the house, cook the lunch, walk the dog...
But first I'll think about your suggestion

NICELabs In reply to madaigual [2013-03-24 14:02:49 +0000 UTC]
Well... sometimes it will go faster. A lot of the time I do it, is to reduce the strain on the system for a big scene. It doesn't happen so much with my new computer, but in the past having to much going on would get warnings or use up the memory, or even crash Poser, so doing in layers would be quicker and safer in that respect.
I also sympathise... I have a few ideas I want to do, but I need to clean a bit, then cook for the folks, then go feed the cows, then if it's not snowing too bad I have to drive about 30 miles into the city where my arcade is for our monthly business meeting and then another meeting after that Of course in times like this I'll spend a little bit of time to set the scene then let it cook while I'm gone

You're a very busy man NICELabs, don't know how you do it! Although "feeding the cows" still sounds like Sci-Fi to me.
Me, I'm just realising how useless I am and how much the wife has been doing all these years...Ah well! I might give layers another chance though - with a bit of planning: Can't use the last one because the carriage wouldn't be there all day, would it?

NICELabs In reply to madaigual [2013-03-24 20:18:11 +0000 UTC]
might be there.... but you could always remove it and do an area render of just that side where the carriage was, then splice it onto the background, and now you have an empty street

Many thanks , the background was the main project, the foreground just happened

well my dear sir; for what's worth the foreground assents to your decision Ms. Penelope is well rendered. her eyes, fabulous. her bored but just a little pouty mouth, delicious. The detail of the lace and lining are most excellent. totally love the choke collar around her neck. but then to be totally honest you canβt go wrong with ginger as your spice, imha.
and although soft focused the background is still there enough to be appreciated. i believe you have done a superb job again.
Great turn of phrase in the story telling. "...modesty and climate..."

Thanks, as always, radaVid ... I had great plans for the background [link] , but I decided to take a leaf out of NICELabs book and render the background first and then use the picture as a backdrop (first time I've ever done it, not sure if it saved any time though)
The story is a merely device to explain why Penelope is standing in Connaught Crescent in her undies.

the background is, as thought, great. maybe use it somewhere else later on. for my taste Penelope is merely a device to get me excited and maybe read the story. in my view she can stand anywhere, undies or not.
