Description
You sat out on a balcony over-looking Gotham. When you shoved aside all the crime and psychotic freaks terrorizing the place, it was a truly a beautiful city. Letting a small sigh escape your lips, you turned your gaze to the sky. Dark clouds concealed the sun, putting an almost gloomy shadow over everything. You looked close to miserable as you rested an elbow on the railing, your head in your hand. A gentle wind blew your (h/l), (h/c) locks out of your face.

“You know, with all the smiling you do, I started to wonder if you were even capable of being unhappy.”

You smiled a bit at the familiar voice, not bothering to look over your shoulder. Keeping your eyes on the city, Bruce came to stand beside you. A small smile crept onto your lips as you stared down at all of the people of Gotham.

“I don’t have a reason to be unhappy. I have everything I need.”

Your small, but genuine, smile slowly faded.

“Except for answers…”

Turning to look at the man you knew so well, Bruce sighed.

“(Y/n)-…”

You cut him off before he could say what he did every time you brought things like this up.

“Don’t tell me that you don’t have answers, Bruce. Because I know you do. You just won’t give them to me.”

He opened his mouth to speak, but you were determined to win this time.

“Every time I ask something, you shove it down. And, I don’t even know why. I’m not stupid, Bruce. I mean, there are things you tell me that don’t add up. You say you’re going out at two in the afternoon, and you come back at two in the morning with bullet-wounds?”

You shook your head a bit as he looked down at the floor. You knew he was realizing that he had almost no ground to stand on at this point, but you weren’t done. You weren’t going to stop until you had what you wanted, or at least came close.

“What is it I’m missing here, Bruce? Why won’t you tell me anything?”

Pausing to let him answer, he stayed silent. Another small sigh escaped your lips as you looked down at your (f/c) converse. Taking a moment to get your thoughts together, you looked back up at him.

“Look… What you do in your own time is none of my business… And I get that. But, Bruce, when you come home with bullet-wounds instead of the Coke I asked you to get me-“

Bruce simply chuckled a bit breathlessly as you smiled warmly.

“-I start to get just a little concerned. And, I don’t ask questions much. But, when I don’t know what’s going on in my own house… Something isn’t right.”

You fell quiet as you stared at him. His gaze lingered on the floor for a moment before he looked up to meet your (e/c) eyes. Reaching up to move your bangs behind your ear, you simply stared back at him, waiting for him to speak.

“(Y/n), when I first brought you here, I told you that I would answer everything, and soon. And I meant that.”

You nearly closed your eyes as his hand came to rest on your cheek, a small breeze rustling your hair.

“I know you did… But, when is soon? It’s been a good year… If that isn’t soon, I don’t know what is... I mean-“

You were cut off as Bruce placed his lips on yours. Melting in the sweet kiss, you pulled away after a moment.

“Bruce-…”

He simply gave you a smile as you fell quiet, staring into his blue eyes. After a moment, you smiled once again, playfully punching him in the arm.

“Fine. But I want my soda, dammit.”
