Description
Remus and Sirius sat in their dorm. It was Christmas time, and the entire castle was nearly empty, save for a few students. And you. Sirius stared at Remus as he went on and on about you.“I mean, she’s perfect, Padfoot. Everything about her. Her (h/c) hair. Her (e/c) eyes. Merlin, her eyes are gorgeous. Her (s/c) skin. She has nice skin…”
Sirius snickered a bit, watching as his friend stared up at the ceiling.
“And you’re still too big of a coward to talk to her, Moony.”
Remus blushed a bit, sitting up in his bed.
“What would I even say? ‘Hi (y/n), I’m Remus. You have nice skin and I really want to go out with you.’ That would be awful, Padfoot!”
Sirius shrugged a bit, playing around with his wand.
“It works for me. Besides, some girls like straight-forward. Just go for it. And, if she says no, oh well. What’s the worst that could happen?”
Oh, Remus didn’t want to think about that. He bit his lip, imagining you laughing at him. Telling him how ridiculous he was. That made his spirits drop even more. Sirius got up and sat next to his friend, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
“Alright, so maybe I shouldn’t have said that. But, I’ll help you, Moony. I am God’s gift to women after all.”
Remus couldn’t help but roll his eyes, though he was ready to take any advice at this point.
“Go up to her. Take her by surprise. Then just give her a charming smirk. Girls love the charming smirk. Throw her some pick-up lines. They fall for those in a second flat.”
Remus tried to think of any pick-up lines he knew, though his mind drew a blank. Sirius almost seemed to sense this, sighing a bit.
“I swear Moony, you’re hopeless. Try some cheesy ones. Guaranteed to at least make her smile. ‘Are you from Tennessee? Because you’re the only ten I see.’ ‘Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?’ ‘Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?’ Throw those in. She’ll be in your bed before the night’s over.”
Remus blushed a deep shade of red as Sirius smirked and clapped him on the shoulder.
“I’m going to hunt down Evans and pick on her. Go get her, tiger.”
With that, Sirius left, Remus a blushing mess.
*~~*
Remus paced the room of their dorm. He was a nervous wreck. He really wanted to get your attention, but he wasn’t so sure he could do it without fainting. He went over the pick-up lines Sirius had told him, taking deep breaths. He was going to do it. He could do it. What was the worst that could happen? He flushed at the thought once again, trying to get it out of his mind. He put on his most charming smirk, heading down the stairs to the common room. Lucky for him, you were reading in one of the chairs by the fire, a stack of books as tall as you by the corner. You wore a baggy (f/c) sweater that went down to your knees, some black leggings under it. Remus stared at your legs for a second. God, they were beautiful. How he wanted so badly to run his hands along them. To- He shook his head, not needing to think like that just yet. As he walked over to you, he stood by the chair. You looked up from your book, giving him an expecting look. Remus simply smirked, not letting it falter as you looked back at your book. You were really uncaring right about now, for you could feel he was going to hit on you.
“Hey (y/n). Do you believe in true love o-?”
You cut him off, turning the page of your book and speaking in a bored voice.
“Not really, no. Don’t bother walking by again.”
That took Remus off guard, his nervousness edging at him. He decided to keep trying, determined this time.
“Oh. Well, are you from Te-?”
You cut him off again, still reading your book as you sighed.
“I’m probably a 5, maybe a 6 tops. And, I’m from Manchester. My accent gives it away.”
Remus was getting discouraged now, lightly biting his bottom lip. Sirius had enlightened him on only three pick-up lines, and you had already turned down two. He had one more shot.
“Right. Well, did it hurt when you f-?”
You cut him off for the third time, still uncaring as you turned another page in your book.
“Well, I wouldn’t really fall for no reason. I would be cast down by God. Besides, it would probably kill me anyway.”
Remus sighed a bit, losing his smirk as he stared down at his feet. You glanced up at him, noticing how nervous he now looked, his smirk turned to a slight frown.
“Look, (y/n). I’ve seen you around, and you’re so beautiful. I just really wanted to get you to notice me, and I was using these stupid pick-up lines my friend gave me. I was really trying t-…”
You cut him off once again, closing your book and turning to look at him.
“Then stop trying.”
Remus looked up at you, and you gave him a small, reassuring smile. Your voice was soft and sincere.
“Just be yourself.”
Remus smiled back at you, blushing a bit as he lightly shook his head.
“Yeah… Yeah, alright… Can we try this again..?”
You smiled a bit wider at how nervous he looked, nodding a bit. Remus walked back up to his dorm, and you opened your book again. Waiting a moment, he slid down the stairs. You looked up at the sound of his footsteps, and he nervously approached you.
“Hi, (y/n). I’m Remus.”
Your (e/c) eyes glittered with livelihood as you smiled up at him. God, your smile took his breath away.
“Hi Remus.”
He stared down at his feet, nervously shifting a bit.
“I just wanted to tell you that I think you’re really beautiful…”
You blushed a bit, scooting over in the chair and setting your book down.
“Thanks… Why don’t you come talk with me?”
Remus smiled as he sat next to you, the two of you talking and quietly laughing. Little did you know, however, Lily and Sirius were watching from the stairway of the girl’s dorm. The red-head shot Sirius a smirk, holding out her hand.
“You, sir, owe me 3 galleons. Now pay up.”
Sirius grumbled angrily, digging in his pocket and mumbling how he ‘wished Remus didn’t have the balls to actually go up to you.’ He placed the money in Lily’s hand, watching as she casually went back to her dorm, leaving the animagus to watch you and Remus.

"I am God's gift to women, after all. "
Witches and wizards, behold the reason I choose Remus over Sirius.
And the fact that nerds are totally my type.

But Sirius is...funny?
I love nerds, too. Outgoing nerds. Or, geeks, really.

Yes, I do appreciate Sirius' sass and sense of humor. But Remus has plenty of that, too.
But yes...nerds, geeks, fanboys, otakus..... *sighs*

Gods Sirius is the worst in giving advice! Good thing Moony saved it at the last minute! Well done! This was a good read!

Sirius just needs to be a little more romantical. And thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
