DEAR GOD, ISN'T THIS THE LOVELY ANNETTE BIRKIN
I was just wondering if someone would ever celebrate her renewed (majestic) role in the remake of Resident Evil 2 and here you are, coming with a gorgeous art in your unique and beautiful style. To say I loved her is an understatement
I think Capcom made a stupendous work with her, creating a brand new Annette Birkin similar to both her original self and The Darkside Chronicles version: a tenacious scientist and a desperately courageous mom and wife, dying to save her daughter and protect his husband's lifework. The Birkins' story was so vividly tragic it hurt to see how everything went from bad to worse just because of Umbrella (and Spencer, of course), ultimately leading to Raccoon City's doomed fate (together with William and Annette's).
Anyway, I loved Annette's new (hair)style: it made her look more like the warrior she indeed is, fighting for what she cares until she's no more -a real fighter, a proud woman of arms: a real badass, no more no less. Man, I loved her so much it tore my heart into pieces when I saw her dying like that in Claire A's scenario.
Anyway, if you happen to draw more about Annette and the Birkins know that you're more than welcome because they truly deserve it! WE NEED MORE ANNETTE, either with her old or new style: I will love her forever and always

Obviously I would be that person! She and William are on my list of favorite characters ... And ironically my favorite character I have not drawn much, if I'm not wrong I've drawn only once ~ who will be my favorite character?
I've always had mixed feelings with Annette, I understand her actions, but she ignores Sherry a lot... Sherry is a love, I do not like that this long alone, she just wants to spend time with her daddies ~
You're not wrong, she's brave, confronting "William" without a hint of fear, although her marriage was somewhat ephemeral, she still loved him. I did not shoot him to kill him ... I have a feeling that Albert tried to save William through Hunk, that is, Hunk's orders came from him and Not Umbrella. For that reason as Hunk fails his mission to recover the G, sends Ada. Let's say Annette is... divided between her role of mother and wife: she loves William and supports him always (she's the last one left defending NEST after all, when everyone has turned into monsters and Mr. X also roams around) but she's also deeply loyal to Sherry (there's this letter, written from Annette to her husband, telling him they're not fair to Sherry as she's always alone because of their work). Annette really loves her daughter and there's no question of that, as she tells Claire (when asked why she left Sherry alone in that hell Raccoon City has turned into) she never wanted her daughter to live in a world where the G virus had spread (we never meant this to happen, she says, and I believe her) -and that's why Annette is desperately trying to take out G-William before getting back to Sherry: she knows her daughter is in trouble as long as his mutated dad is around and her ultimate task is to kill him, protect her, prevent G virus from falling into the wrong hands and possibly flee. Unfortunately, G3 takes her by surprise and fatally wounds her, dooming her to die alone and regretting to have treated Sherry as second best.
Truth is Annette dies for what she loves most, saving Sherry with the Devil antiviral and taking responsibility for the fall of Raccoon City when nobody, and I repeat nobody, does. She was not innocent of course, as many people died for the sake of William's research, yet she was also a wife and a mother who fought until the end for what she thought was right -a woman caught in Umbrella's death spiral who was able to break free only by sacrificing everything she'd always had, from her life to her job to her family.
That said, I'm sure both Annette and William loved Sherry a lot (that photo of them together on William's countertop says it all), and don't forget their last words where for Sherry in both cases.
About Wesker trying to save William, if I recall correctly he indeed ordered Ada to do that. HUNK was just part of the USS Alpha Team dispatched to retrieve a sample of the G-virus, and despite his whole team being swept away by Birkin he managed to survive and take a remaining sample to his superiors. On the other hand, Ada completely failed her mission -and I'm proud to say it was also thanks to Annette's last effort, yes.
Finally: yes, I do like Annette's new design a lot -and the fact that her hairstyle recalls Alex's is of no consequence to me, as Alex is my favorite character Anyway, I love both Darkside Chronicles and Re2 Remake Annette: those hairstyles suit her well in any case in my opinion, and she's a great woman and scientist anyway (with all of her flaws, of course).

That is correct, and it is indeed very surprising that he survived for so long having William and Mr. X around him. but had the advantage that she knew the facilities as the palm of your hand, in addition to having the camera at your disposal and so to escape. William and Annette were probably overwhelmed with their work most of the time and that's why they almost lost contact with Sherry, yet they have always loved her and Annette's sacrifice together with William's cries testify for that (other than Annette's letter to William). Speaking about their actions in game, I like to think what's left of William inside G before the last mutations really wants to protect Sherry, and that's why he's there when Irons and Mr. X threaten her; yet, it is also true G has grown stronger and stronger since William injected himself and by the events of Resident Evil 2 he has almost completely lost it. I guess the William-self wanted to protect Sherry, while the G-self just wanted her to have its embryo implanted.
In all of this, Annette travels alone and fights not only to prevent her husband's research from being stolen, but also to protect Sherry. She wasn’t a good mother for her and she knew that (as she states in the Darkside Chronicles), but leaving Sherry alone at home and forbidding her from staying with her in the lab was just her way to protect her, as Annette says before the 2nd malformation of G fatally wounds her. She may have been absent and that's true, but there's no question of the fact she loved her daughter, otherwise she wouldn't have gone so far trying to destroy William (and being killed in the process).
As for Umbrella's experiments on the little inhabitants of the orphanage... honestly, I don't know what to say and I won't deny William's obsession with science, as it's what led him to his death. That's the darker side of the Birkin family: on one hand both William and Annette truly loved Sherry, on the other they performed experiments on children who could have been Sherry herself. There was no ethic in Umbrella's research and we know that, but in the last times before the Raccoon City outbreak I get the impression William (as the administrator of NEST) and Umbrella were quite on the outs and acted as separated entities (that's why Hunk's team was ultimately sent to steal the virus) -so yeah, let's say William and Annette were scientists who were only... loyal to their principles and, in the end, to their daughter.
As far Ada is concerned, you are right: she finally gets the G-virus and flees. I was sure she failed her mission and didn't retrieve it, but it seems I was wrong: so sorry, my mistake.
Speaking about the next remake, I hope they'll first make the Code: Veronica, though most of the players seem to prefer Nemesis. Let’s just wait and see.
Finally, I’m really glad to hear there’ll be more about William and Annette: they deserve way more love than what they’re actually given
