EDIT: I must point out that the realization of the eyes (except color) I asked the intervention of my friend, very good, because I have a blocked: in expressions pissed off I tend to lean very eyes of the subject and the result is unwatchable.

How do you do this type of art work? It's freaking mindblowing!!! Honestly, its really great! Do you paint it by hand, or is there a computer program involved? I love this, one of my favorite characters of all! Plus, I heard a second Snow White & The Huntsman is going to come out soon... *shivers with excitement* And againCassDoubleME, FANTASTIC job! Well, then, in reality there are two techniques: first I did the sketch in pencil on a sheet of paper (sometimes I would like to do on the computer but then the lines are not as I want it ... maybe if I was rich and had a Cintiq then "dreams are desires

Er...that tough question...
In summary all on one level only, and it was very stressful because, usually, are used to doing everything on a different level.
Let me try to explain it without getting the Divine Comedy...
I left as a basic sketch in pencil 'cause contributed to Eric's dirt, then I gave the basic colors and the shadow colors, close to each other and with the brush mix colors I have blended. I run this process again and again, again and again, overlapping colors of colors (I took the reference photo) until you are united to duty without leaving stains.
For the background I used a gradient and I made the silhouettes of the trees to which I then lowered the opacity because it stood out too much attention was not all about Eric...
I do not know how much you have been helpful...in words - and my English is obviously horrible
