Description
and Gondahir soon to be young wife... He's planning on settling! Yey!Ok! I have to admit that in the past months I've given rise to a lot of important characters in the "Lake of the 40 Towers" novel some of whom had existed prior but had no earth shattering role what so ever.
Such as Mereves - a blonde half-wielder that appeared only in The Destiny of Salacity as Gondahir's male f**k buddy - who got remodeled in my rewriting of the novel and now plays a ground breaking role in making Thuris, a.k.a. Khundarn's "storm" come true! He's a powerful being and I will take full advantage of that! (and he and Gondahir aren't gay together anymore, stop it! but you can dream...
In "Lake" up until now I've changed the importance or introduced the following characters:
augmented: Alurhea - the grey Zandereen of Power, Aetsir the Living-born, Maeghalen the Stern, Ilared - the eldest Amrath Brother, Mereves the half-wielder
introduced: Seyn and a band of snotty irthala youngsters, Yurhen a zandereen Darkwielder, Leysarien Amrath (will appear in "The Book of Things to Come" and is Zendrua and Gereniar's second child) and this gall: Rhyleea.
What is up with this girl you may ask and what's her role in the novel?
Rhyleea (pron: Rai-leh-eh-ah) is a seventeen year old brothel girl from Zandor who came along with her mistress, a chubby woman named Alestre (< recycled name, kek!) and her co-workers to the refugee city of Nelibdir. When Gondahir, the second main antagonist of my novel, is sent to the city to lay in waiting, he finds it only best to take up residence in a brothel and take not just any girl, but a young, charming and very smart tart called Rhyleea who charms the almost-former wanton through her innocence and curiosity. She learns from him of Darkwielders and of Gondahir's master and his plan and entices him to call Mereves so that they all may plot in aiding Thuris' "storm".
Being a tart, naturally she spends most of the days with Gondahir... ahem, in his arms and under his weight and all the while the man divulges his nature as a half-wielder to her. In other words, he trusts her.
When Mereves arrives, he doesn't see Rhyleea and Gondahir's relationship as healthy so he tries to snap Gondahir from whatever delusion might have wrapped around his brain into thinking Rhyleea is important. But through Gondahir's persuasion, Mereves in the end consents to the plan at hand: using the girl's seductive nature to lure the scattered Darkwielders from across the Lands and killing them. Mereves has the power, but Rhyleea has the appeal to do so. The blond beauty isn't just a pretty face and pair of legs and she is willing to prove herself to the two men.
Also, Gondahir has plans of marrying her when all this, the March, Thuris' plan, anything, will be over. He's had enough of roaming and easy women. He wants a beautiful, loving wife of his own, one that brings in him feelings he thought had died out of him and for that he wants her close... He loves her :3
Even antagonists have heart!
Well, I hope you like this portrayal of this minor, but worthy character from my novel and I won't tell you her Fate. That'll remain to be seen in "Lake"!
