Description "When the summer is gone it won’t be long 'till someone’s got the fever..." -The Fever by The Academy Is...

I stood on the sidewalk in Manistee to photograph someone's flower tree in their yard.. okay, okay, I may have taken a few steps closer.

This is definitely a Magnolia tree "tulip tree"
I believe it's the Alexandrina (Magnolia x soulangeana) saucer magnolia, but please correct me if you can!

35mm film
spring/summer 2011
Manistee, Michigan

Nice image Madeline! I've heard these called Tulip Trees, but I know they are called something else...the name escapes me.

Thank you, Brian I was looking at the Jane Magnolia. Anyway, it's definitely a Magnolia tree, possibly a hybrid like the Saucer

Love the colors and the depth. It looks slightly grainy on some parts, was this an effect you added?

Thank you

it didn't seem like it! Looks rather crisp on the closest flower. very deceiving.

Film can still be crisp as long as you have a good lens!

True! I was talking about how it didn't look like it had any grain though.
