Yeah. First I made it pretty colorful, but then I realized that this work doesn't need any colors! Indeed it's a perfect homage to the old movie 'psycho' of Hitchcock. : ))

No vectors. At the first step I made some simple shadows with the standart pencil in photoshop (I use a graphic tablet, btw). Then I selected this shadow area, (now you can create a new layer) and used a diffuse pencil to recover it partly with a smooth gradient! It's a simple technique, but effective! : )
