I like the bit of extra silver wire hanging over the tree. Not sure why, but feel it adds something.

I think it's because it draws your attention upwards and balances out what would otherwise be a really sharp contrast between the top and bottom. Without that wire the trunk and roots would win out because the darkness is more evident to the eye, what with the white background and everything.
...I suppose it also adds character

This is really beautiful tree.. I like how tender the pearls look.. like if those are snow caps on branches
